Babbling Broke

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Nostalgic for Top Gun?
Nostalgic for Top Gun?

Huge double up for Tobias Renkemeier, the German had opened preflop to 3,500 and received two callers before Nicolas Babel raised to 12,200 from the small blind. Renkemeier then made a small 4-bet to 23,500 and the callers both folded. Babel decided to respond by moving all-in and Renkemeier snap-called for his 126,200 stack and turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} which miles ahead of Babel's {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

The board came out {8-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Renkemeier doubled to over 250,000 while Babel dropped to around 50,000.

Bansi Doubles

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Eyes on the Praz
Eyes on the Praz

Caught only on the river as Ladislav Mika had a think about short stacked Praz Bansi's shove (20,200) into a pot of around 15,000, the board already out in full: {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Bansi has been officially grinding since halfway through yesterday, and only returned with 26,000, but his patience has paid off - Mika made this call and mucked when Bansi showed down {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the straight.

Aces Hold in Three-Way All In!

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Down on table number seven there has just been a three-way all in between the table's shorter stacks.

We didn't see how the chips found their way into the middle but when the dust had settled we did see what cards everyone held!

Lasell King: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Milous Artjorns: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Ionel Anton: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The {7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop kept the aces in front and the {k-Spades} in the turn meant Artjourns was now favourite to win the side-pot that was created. The {5-Spades} on the river completed the hand, doubling up Anton and eliminating King.

Over Kirilov

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Mihail Kirilov is no longer in the running after getting his chips in on the turn of a {4-}{9-}{j-}{10-} board with [7x8x0 for the bottom end of the straight, only to find Jan Bendik holding {k-}{q-} for the nuts. The {5-} river was purely academic, and he hit the rail.

Babel No Fish

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Frenchman Nicolas Babel has just shown aggression is the key to picking up vital chips in tournaments as he won a big pot after betting all three streets against Rasmus Nielsen.

Babel opened with a 3,700, Nielsen called next to act but everyone else folded, leaving the two players to go to battle on a flop reading {4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{a-Spades}. Babel quickly fired a bet of 4,600, which Nielsen quickly called by first tossing a single black 100 chip then utting the rest of the amount in delicately.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn saw Babel bet 11,600 and once again Nielsen tossed a single 100 chip into the middle then put the rest in the middle carefully.

The {j-Diamonds} on the river prompted Babel to count his stack and then move all in for slightly over 50,000. Without any pause for thought, Nielsen mucked his hand

Desgouttes Result

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Florian Desgouttes has doubled up to 58,000 to the delight of a small but supportive group of players (or railers or fans) who watched him move all in preflop over a standard Toby Lewis raise. It was small blind Liviu Ignat, however, who spent the longest thinking about this preflop 27,300, finally choosing to move in over the top. Lewis passed immediately and they were on their backs:

Desgouttes: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ignat: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Already confident, Desgouttes was delighted when the board came out {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts} and gave him the pot. Ignat, meanwhile, drops to 71,500.
