Shooting Blancs

Cristiano Blanco raised to 800, with just 7,000 behind and picked up one caller in the form of Anas Tadini on the button. The two of them saw a flop.

Flop: {Q-Clubs} {7-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Blanco bet out 1,200 and Tadini min-raised to 2,400. Blanco went all in, Tadini announced call at roughly the speed of light, and they were on their backs.

Blanco: {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Tadini: er, {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}

Turn: {10-Diamonds}

River: {10-Hearts}

Both players took their chips back, and Blanco remains short.

Florian Languishing

No luck for Florian Langmann, he saw his 1,200 bet get raised to 2,600 on a {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} board. Langmann called before check-raising all-in on the {J-Spades} turn. Tapio Vihakas, his opponent, snap-called with {7-Clubs} {6-Hearts} against Langmann's {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} and the {J-Hearts} river doubled Vihakas up and left the German having to rebuild yet again.

Charette of Fire

Simon Charette had a spot of good fortune when another player found {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and got his whole stack in, only for Charette to make the call with {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds}.

Board: {Q-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {J-Spades} {8-Spades} to make Charette a flush to boot.

Charette is up to just a shade short of 60,000.

Battle of the Non-Premium Hands

With the board reading {4-Spades} {2-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, Americo Spinozzi moved all in leaving Ludovic Lacay with a decision to make. Eventually Lacay decided to fold, and the triumphant Spinozzi showed him {6-Spades} {7-Spades} for a missed flush draw. Lacay recovered his mucked cards and showed Spinozzi {6-Clubs} {2-Clubs} for a lowly pair of deuces to go with the queens on the board. "Almost," he said.

Nevertheless Lacay is still doing very well on around 80,000.

Dinner Plans

We've just heard word about the scheduling for these starting flights. We'll be playing nine levels today with a staggered dinner break approaching. When Level 6 ends, the first half of the room will head off to dinner. They'll return to play Level 7 while the other group has their break.

After two hours, the field will recombine, and they'll play two more levels to close out the night. We expect this schedule to hold true for tomorrow as well.
