Ask and Ye Shall Be Disappointed

First into the pot from the small blind, Robert Kreutzer open-shoved for his final 45,000 chips. In the big, Daniel Van Kalkeren made the quick call with his covering stack.

Showdown
Kreutzer: {A-Clubs} {4-Hearts}
Van Kalkeren: {Q-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}

"No queen," begged Kreutzer. We all know what happens next, don't we? The flop came down {4-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {5-Spades}, and the turn and river blanked off with the {10-Clubs} and {K-Clubs} respectively.

Kreutzer got his short stack in good, but he's got nothing to show for it except a small payout from the cashier.

Hougaard Humbled

Jesper Hougaard put in a raise from the button to 16,000 and was called by Paul Valkenburg in the big blind.

The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Valkenburg checked. Hougaard bet 21,000 and was raised to 55,000 by Valkenburg. Hougaard studied his opponent for two minutes and moved all in. Valkenburg immediately called all in for 252,000 with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and had Hougaard's {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} needing a nine for a straight.

Turn: {2-Hearts}
River: {J-Spades}

Hougaard is down to 80,000 while Valkenburg soars to 550,000.

Ehne Ten Will Do

Simon Ehne was standing to leave after he got his last in with {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} on an {8-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {4-Diamonds} flop only to find Vadim Markushevski holding {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}, but then said, "Oh," when the {10-Hearts} dropped on the turn. FOllowing the {K-Clubs} river, he doubled to around 350,000.

Doubling Dohnert

We can't quite tell what the betting action was, but when we walked up to the table, big blind Samuel Miller had 50,000 chips out in front of him, and the player under the gun, Florian Dohnert had moved all in for 312,000 total. As we walked up, Miller made the call with the covering stack.

"Ugh, you must have me," lamented Dohnert. But the news wasn't so bad. He showed up {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}, and he was flipping for his tournament life against Miller's {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}.

Dohnert was a slight favorite, and he would stay well out in front on a clean board of {2-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. That doubles him all the way up to 631,500, while Dohnert drops to 220,000.

Jesper Lets His Hougaard Down

Still cheerful
Still cheerful
Aaron Lerner raised to 19,000 and it folded around to Jesper Hougaard in the small blind who pushed for his last 75,000. Russell Carson in the big blind reshoved for around 400,000 and after some very serious thought, Lerner gave it up. On their backs.

Hougaard: {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Carson: {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}

Board: {5-Hearts} {9-Spades} {K-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

We are down one Hougaard.
