Conlon

We have lost another player, this time Christopher Conlon of the UK is the man who has lost his chips, with Per Albin Linde being the beneficiary.

The action folded around to Conlon in the small blind, who moved all-in for around fifteen big blinds, a bet that Linde quickly called.

Conlon: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Linde: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Flop: {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Turn: {9-Hearts}

River: {2-Diamonds}

With that Linde, the man who finished 13th at the 2010 EPT San Remo, moves up to 470,000 chips

Erik Van Den Berg Has Been Eliminated

Erik Van Den Berg has been eliminated in very unfortunate circumstances. Pascal Lefrancois opened with a raise from late position to 20,000 and Van Den Berg moved 69,000 all-in from the Small Blind. Lefrancois made the call and tabled {a-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and Van Den Berg showed {a-Diamonds} {k-Spades}.

The flop was {6-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. The turn was {a-Hearts} and then the river that Van Den Berg was dreading {9-Spades} turned up and he was eliminated from the tournament.

ElkY Headed for the Taxidermist

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier opened for 22,000 under the gun, only to find Jesus Cortes Lizano reraising him to 59,000. ElkY repopped for 160,000 total, and after a few moments of working out what would be the best course of action, Lizano went all in. ElkY called all in, and it was a swift and clinical end for the Team PokerStars Pro.

ElkY: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Lizano: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Board: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}

By the by, the demise of ElkY means that we will not be seeing anyone claim a second EPT title this time around. The only other EPT champion left in the field, Jan Boubli, busted just before the break, and we are 100% certain that we will be crowning a brand new champion this week.

Mr. Lizano is up to 950,000, almost three times what he started this level with.

Daniel Ends Up With Egea On His Face

Daniel Egea has just had his stack cripped by a fellow short stack, Daniel Dodet after he moved all-in from the button with {a-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Dodet woke up in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}!

The {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop drew some ooohs and aaahs as a ten would split the pot, but the turn and river came {5-Clubs} and {q-Diamonds} respectively and Dodet was doubled up to 137,000, whilst his opponent is languishing with a tiny 55,000 stack.

Sihvo Stung by Stang

Lari Sihvo was betting out 95,000 when we arrived on the turn of the {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} board. A player we were referring to as Batman owing to his rather nice glittery Batman logo t-shirt - we later discovered that he was one Thor Stang - shoved for 257,000. Sihvo called, and they flipped the cards.

Stang: {5-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flopped straight and a flush draw
Sihvo: {j-Spades}{9-Spades} for a bigger flush draw, but no straight

River: {3-Clubs}

Stang doubled up, leaving Sihvo reduced to a precarious 130,000.

A Pair Is Company, Three-of-a-kind Is a Crowd

Konstantin Puchkov
Konstantin Puchkov

Juan Company has just imploded and gone from hero to zero in a very short space of time.

On a {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop, Konstantin Puchkov bet, Company shoved and Puchkov beat him into the pot with the call.

Company: {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} - for top pair
Puchkov: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} - for top set

The {j-Clubs} turn and {4-Diamonds} river were just a formality and Puchkov increased his stack to 800,000, whilse Senor Company was left nursing a 47,000 extremely short stack

Two hands later and Puchkov raised on the button to 31,000, Company moved all-in for what was now his last 40,000 chips and Puchkov had the easiest call of his life.

Puchkov: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Company: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The final board read {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Company was eliminated. Wow.
