If at First You Don't Succeed, Try, Try Again!

EPT Vienna was a fantastic tournament and some of the notable players who made a deep run for glory have returned to the Casino de Barcelona with that thirst for glory.

We have two final tablists from Vienna in the form of Luca Cainelli and Matthias Lotze and we also have the man from Panama Jose Severino who has just made a group of people’s day. There are scatterings of missing seats where people have obviously been partying too hard the night before or are just too Goddam good and don’t need to turn up on time. One such table has a paltry three people on it and they were desperate to play but couldn’t until a minimum of seven players took their seats. That seventh person who took his seat was Jose Severino and he put a smile on everyone’s faces.

We caught up with a hand with Lotze. There was a raise from under the gun by a guy who looked completely disinterested. He made it 250 to play and the action folded around to Lotze in the big blind and he made the call. We were looking to see if the flop would put a smile on the raisers face but it didn’t. It was {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} {j-Spades} and they both checked. The turn was the {5-Spades} and Lotze lead out with a bet of 300 and the disinterested player called. The river was {2-Spades} bringing a four flush to the board and the both checked it down and the disinterested player took the pot down.

Lotze: {a-Clubs} {3-Clubs}

Disinterested player: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
