The Rich Get Richer

When we caught the hand on the river of a {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} board, chip leader Perica Bukara was heads up with online qualifier Christopher Murphy. Murphy bet out 16,000, and Bukara smoothly made it 43,000 to get to showdown. Murphy made the call, and Bukara turned up {k-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full boat. Murphy didn't have it beat and dropped down to 40,000 while Bukara soared to 270,000.

Jensen Scoops One

Antonio Buonanno opened to 3,100 from middle position, and next to act, Anders Jensen reraised to 8,900. Buonanno made the call, and they were heads up to the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. Both quickly checked, and it went check-check again on the {k-Hearts} turn. The {3-Hearts} river put a third heart out there, and Buonanno checked again. Jensen bet 10,100. It only tok Buonanno a second to toss out a call, then even less time to muck when Jensen tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker. Jensen moved up to 83,000, leaving 60,000 in Buonanno's stack.

Maglione Says Sorry, Probably Isn't.

Kristijonas Andrulis fired out a bet of 3,200 on a flop of {7-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} with Italian Davide Maglione making the call. The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Andrulis thought for a moment before betting 8,800. Maglione now moved all-in only to be instantly called by Andrulis' flopped set of {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} while Maglione showed a slightly speculative {8-Clubs} {3-Clubs} that had turned a straight draw.

The river was the {J-Diamonds} making the straight and Maglione simply said, "Sorry," as Joep van den Bijgaart stifled a giggle, along with several other players on the table. Maglione doubled up to around 100,000. while Andrulis has been crippled with less than 20,000 remaining.

Vinogrodskij Keeps the Short Stacked Blues at Bay

A brief raising war between Dmitry Bayramov (under the gun) and Andrej Vinogrodskij (small blind) resulted in Bayramov four-betting 24,500 - half of his stack - and Vinogrodskij five-betting all in for around 80,000 to cover Bayramov. There followed some very serious tanking from Bayramov, but he ultimately folded, leaving himself with an interesting sort of 15-big-blind stack.
