Good morning and welcome back to the Swissotel Tallinn where 84 players remain in the chase for the first ever Estonian EPT title.
Chip leader by a massive margin as we head into Day 3 is young Brit Jonathan Weekes. So far in his poker career, he's only enjoyed one EPT Main Event cash - 21st in London last year - although he also came second in a side event at EPT Copenhagen this year. Though he was spotted still at the PokerStars party at 4am this morning, he will presumably be hoping to go one better than second and take this down - and with 50% more chips than the next man, he's in fine shape to do so.
That next man, by the by, is none other than Ivan Demidov, whom you may remember from the 2008 WSOP Main Event. He came second then, and although he is in second place now, he will also be among those aiming for the top. Also representing Team PokerStars, though with rather fewer chips, is Luca Pagano. If he finals this, it will be his seventh - yes, seventh - EPT final. Other Team Pros still in the running include Arnaud Mattern, Michael Keiner, Katja Thater and Vadim Markushevski.
Before we get anywhere near that though, we have to get into the money. Only 56 of these folks are going to get paid, meaning that there will be tears before bedtime. Play should get back underway shortly, so watch this space.
Level: 15
Blinds: 2,000/4,000
Ante: 400
Unfortunately for Raymi Sanchez Thorn, this day has dawned and already ended. The Swede was all-in with against Vesa-Petri Juutilainen's but the board came ending Thorn's participation in this tournament.
We found EPT Online Qualifier of the Year Pierre Neuville all in preflop with against Paul Pires-Trigo's - that classic coinflip.
"It's now or never," Neuville announced good-naturedly to the table.
Board:
"Now I win the tournament," said Neuville as he doubled to around 80,000. "One chip, one chair."
The shorter stacks are wasting no time getting their chips in, and one of the folks who will not be progressing any further in this tournament is Scott Montgomery, who finalled the WSOP the same year that Ivan Demidov did.
Montgomery found himself very short early on but managed to double up with pocket kings against Igor Ivashkiv's - Ivashkiv hit both an ace and a ten, but Montgomery rivered a king to stay in the game.
However, just a hand or two later and Montgomery got it in again with . This time he was well behind Artem Litvinov's pocket nines, and after failing to spike, Montgomery hit the rail.
Team PokerStars Pro Vadim Markushevski has taken a bit of a hit - his failed to hit against the all-in Bassam Elnajjar's pocket fours, and Markushevski has been left with little more than 10 big blinds.
Oleksandr Vaserfirer has doubled up through Volodymyr Pilyavsky with a nicely timed dose of binkage. Vaserfirer was behind with his to Pilyaysky's but a board of soon changed that.
Vaserfirer is up to 60,000 while Pilyaysky drops to around 170,000 which is still fairly healthy.
Pokerstars qualifier Martin Papiernik has doubled up to a much more healthy 72,000 after he found at the same time that Lorenz Roder found and was willing to give him a spin.
The flop gave Roder a few outs but none managed to appear on the turn or river and the Slovakian survived once more.
