Yotam Gets Barred On The Bubble

Yotam Bar-Yosef
Yotam Bar-Yosef

Yotam Bar-Yosef is our first bubble of Season 7 of the EPT and he will most likely be rueing his push.

Chady Merhej had raised in the small blind and Bar-Yosef moved all-in from the big blind, Merhej making a fairly speedy call.

Merhej: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Bar-Yosef: {2-Hearts} {2-Spades}

The flop was {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} and Bar-Yosef picked up a straight draw while on the {j-Hearts} turn he added a flush draw but the river was the {8-Clubs} and all he got was a round of applause as everyone else made the money.

The happiest man in the tournament though was Tomer Berda sitting to Bar-Yosef's left and had just 10,000 chips. Berda couldn't believe his luck as he probably assumed he would be the bubble for sure. No matter though as now everyone else is €6,350 richer.

Van Zadelhoff Eats into Weekes

Steven van Zadelhoff and a typical Estonian lady dealer. Good genes here.

Steven van Zadelhoff raised under the gun and Jonathan Weekes called from the button to see a {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Van Zadelhoff bet out 22,000 and Weekes called again.

They saw a {q-Diamonds} turn and this time van Zadelhoff paused before betting out 57,000. This time Weekes folded fairly swiftly, and the former chip leader, who'd been taking advantage of the bubble and was back up over the 700,000 mark before the hand, slipped to 680,000. Van Zadelhoff upped his count to 460,000.

O Jai

Toni Ojala raised to 15,000, and looking to exploit the bubble, chip-leader Jonathan Weekes slid out a big enough stack of yellows to put Ojala all in. Toni didn't bother with thinking or theatrics. He called all in for almost exactly 100,000.

Showdown
Ojala: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Weekes: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The board came {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Ojala safely doubled to 200,000. Weekes is still perfectly fine with 650,000.

Bubble Bubble

In 58th place and bubbling the bubble (one day we may start counting the bubble who bubbles the bubble bubble) is Robert Peltecci who made his move all-in with {A-} {Q-} but ran into aces.

57 are left but Tomer Berda looks to be our shortest stack with just 11,000 remaining.

Staying Alive

Arnaud Mattern raised to 12,000 in early position and Bassam Elnajjar shoved behind for a total of 41,000. It folded back around to Mattern who made the call, and Elnajjar found himself about as ahead as he could be.

Mattern: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Elnajjar: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Although Elnajjar was a massive favourite, he still had a sweat ahead of him.

Flop: {7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}

Turn: {9-Hearts} giving Mattern straight and flush outs and prompting an "oooh!" from the other players and assembled spectators

River: a harmless {a-Spades} making Elnajjar a full house

"Yes!" announced Elnajjar as he doubled up, "Alive."
