Mazunin's Trap Fails

Arnaud Mattern opened to 2,800 preflop from early position and Mikhail Mazunin reraised out of the small blind to 7,200. Mattern made the call to see a {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} flop where the Russian continued the aggression with a 9,200 bet.

Mattern made a fairly speedy call before both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn and then the {6-Diamonds} river. Mazunin looked about as frustrated as the average England fan at the World Cup, turning over {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} having hoped the Frenchman would make a move. Sneaky boy.

Mattern drops to about 87,000 while Mazunin moves up to 66,000.
