Table One

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

There are three players seated on table one that qualified for this event through Pokerstars.net. They are Shander de Vries who finished 4th at 2010 EPT Barcelona, David Sonelin who cashed in the 2007 EPT events at Baden and Monte Carlo and American William Johnson.

Here is some of the action.

The board is displaying {k-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {j-Spades} {10-Clubs} and Johnson and Sonelin are in the hand. Johnson bets 32,000 and Sonelin makes the call. The river is the {4-Hearts} and Johnson checks over to Sonelin who bets 45,000 and it is sufficient enough to close the hand down.

Sonelin then opens for 21,000 in early position and receives callers from Fried Meulders, Johnson and Philip Jacobsen. The flop is {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts} and Jacobsen bets 34,000 from the small blind and only Johnson calls. The turn is the {j-Diamonds} and Jacobsen checks to Johnson who bets 38,000 and Jacobsen makes the call. The river is another jack {j-Hearts} and Jacobsen again checks and this time Johnson's 55,000 bet gets through.

All Roads Lead to the Payout Desk for Roman

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Alin Ion Roman suffered some gross misfortune when his two pair got counterfeited. Most of his chips went into the middle with {a-Spades}{3-Spades} against a player holding {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} on a {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop, only for the turn and river to come down {6-Spades} and {6-Clubs} respectively.

A few hands later and Anthony Hnatow opened for 23,000 in the cutoff. Florent Leprovost shoved from the button and Roman called all in for his 50,000 from the big blind. Hnatow snap-called, and both all-in players would soon be all out of the running, Hnatow up to 1.2 million.

Hnatow: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Leprovost: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Roman: {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Board: {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Jacobson Rising

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

We walked in the middle of a sizeable pot between Sergey Kislinskiy and Martin Jacobson with the Russian having bet 77,000 on a flop of {5-Spades} {2-Clubs} {8-Hearts}. Jacobson made the call and both players checked the {5-Hearts} turn.

The river was an interesting {A-Spades} and Kislinskiy quickly bet 114,000 only to be snap-called by Jacobson. The Russian tapped the table showing {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} and Jacobson flipped over {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} to pick up the pot. The Swede came second in Vilamoura a few months ago, he'll be hoping for one better here...

Baldassari Busto

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Raphael Kroll
Raphael Kroll

Former WSOPE runner-up Fabrizio Baldassari just got knocked out by Raphael Kroll. The Italian pushed for 181,000 from UTG and Kroll flat-called behind him as everyone else quickly passed.

Baldassari: {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Kroll: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The dealer quickly put out a board of {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} as the runner-up of one big event shook hands with that of another. Kroll retakes the chip lead.

Small Pot Watch

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Ludovic Lacay is up to 420,000 after betting 27,000 from the button on a {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop and getting called by Thomas Finneran int he big blind. Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} turn and Finneran checked the {2-Spades} river as well. Lacay bet 67,000 and Finneran tanked, squinted, called and mucked in that order to Lacay's {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

Elsewhere Bruno Launais made it 23,000 under the gun and got a call from Raphael Kroll in the big blind. Kroll check-called 31,000 from Launais on the flop, and they checked down the rest of the {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts} board at which point Kroll revealed {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} to take the pot. Kroll is now at 1.2 million, Launais at 550,000.
