Break It Up, Boys
Our first 75-minute session of the day is up, and it's time to mill in the lobby for 15 minutes.
Ciao Joao
Joao Nunes had fired out 5,000 on a flop of before Dominik Nitsche raised to 10,500. Nunes thought for a minute before moving all-in and Nitsche quickly said, "I call."
Nunes:
Nitsche:
The Portuguese Team Pro got out of his chair as if expecting to lose but it looked ok after the turn except the river was the and Nitsche rivered his flush to eliminate his foe.
Lykov Pays Tuition Phees
Kevin MacPhee opened to 2,200 from early position and Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov called out of the big blind. Both players checked the flop before Lykov quickly bet 3,200 on turn.
MacPhee made the call and then both players checked the river, Lykov turned over but he was pipped to the post by his opponent's .
Lykov laughed pointing to MacPhee's cards, "I need the turn!"
Both players are just below average chips at this point.
Keys Unlocks More Chips
James Keys has continued on his march up the chip counts by taking down a pot in a hand against Kurt Haindl over on table 14.
Haindl open limped from under the gun and when Ramin Henke folded, Keys made it 3,200 to play. This was enough to force everyone at his table to fold, except Haindl who made the call.
Flop: - Haindl checked, Keys bet 3,300 and Haindl called rather quickly.
Turn: - Again Haindl checked, Keys paused for 15 seconds or so and then put chips worth 8,800 into the pot, which turned out to be enough to find a fold.
Keys now has 132,000 chips and the Aussie Million Main Event runner-up is a real threat in this tournament
Another EPT Champion Bites The Dust
Judging by the fact Kevin Stani was leaving the hotel it is safe to assume he has been eliminated.
The EPT Tallin winner's stack fluctuated greatly during yesterday's Day 1b and it looks like it has swung the wrong way today.
Given a Short But Kurt Reply
In a three-way 3-bet pot, the flop of was checked between Kurt Haindl, Ramin Henke and Vladimir Geshkenbein.
The came on the turn and Haindl fired out 8,000, Henke called and Geshkenbein folded leaving us heads-up for the river.
Haindl now checked and Henke bet 16,500 - a quick call and Henke turned over for the flopped set, Haindl flashed before throwing it into the muck.
Sal Bon Short Stacked
Aleh Plauski has just doubled up from Team PokerStars Pro Salvatore Bonavena in a typical coinflip situation.
Bonavena opened the betting with a 3,000 bet from the cutoff and Plauski moved all in from the button. Both blinds got out of the way and Bonavena made the call.
Plauski:
Bonavena:
Board:
Bonavena drops to just 13,000 whilst Plauski climbs to 40,600
Nitsche Is King of the Kastle
I have just seen Casey Kastle leaving the tournament area and Dominik Nitsche stacking up a pile of chips. It turns out Nitsche's was the best hand on a board reading .
Nitsche is now on 41,000 whilst Kastle is busto.
