Not Dead And Boereed Yet

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Team PokerStars Pro, and EPT San Remo Champion Liv Boeree is still hanging in there despite not having a lot of room to manoeuvre over on table 10.

Just now everyone folded around to Italian Emanuele Rugini in the cutoff seat and he made it 2,200 to play. Next to act was Miss Boeree, sporting some mirrored aviator sunglasses and she moved all in for around 17,000. Both blinds folded and unfortunately for Boeree so did Rugini.

Boeree turned over the {a-Clubs} as she mucked. I think she may have wanted a call. She now climbs to around 22,000

Ivan to Bluff

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ivan Arnau Roy has been knocked out after raising all-in on the turn of a {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board against Team PokerStars Pro Sebastian Ruthenberg. The German snap-called with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Roy found himself drawing dead with {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} before the {a-Clubs} was even dealt.

Vitaly Important Turn

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Josh Prager
Josh Prager

Josh Prager opened to 2,000 from early position before Vitaly Lunkin 3-bet him just a couple of seats down to 5,600.

It was passed back around to Prager who made a quick call to see a {10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Prager checked and Lunkin decided to check behind.

The {j-Clubs} came on the turn and Prager immediately led out for 8,000 and Lunkin made the call. The river {6-Hearts} didn't seem to change much and Prager checked straight away, his Russian oppponent carefully pushed out a bet of 11,900.

Prager didn't seem to like the bet, but eventually made the call only to muck when he saw Lunkin's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Bidinger and Slaby Creating All The Action

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

It is all go over on table 17 where Sebastien Bidinger and Jerzy Slaby have just clashed twice in consecutive hands.

We joined the hand with Slaby being all in holding {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} against the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} of Bidinger, not a great situation to find himself in. The final board came down {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} leaving Slaby with just 8,500 chips.

The very next hand Bidinger raised to 2,200 from middle position and Slaby put the rest of his stack on the line. The action folded back around to Bidinger and he quickly called, turning over {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} way in front of the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} of his opponent.

The {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop was pretty amazing for Slaby and when the turn and river were the {5-Hearts} and {5-Clubs} respectively, Slaby had doubled up to around 20,000, though still less than the 31,800 he started with today

'Bein of His Life

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Vladimir Geshkenbein
Vladimir Geshkenbein

A bit of a hiccup for chip daddy Vladimir Geshkenbein.

Ramin Henke moved in with {5-}{5-} and Geshkenbein called with {a-}{q-}. It looked as though it was all over for the German online qualifier when an ace and a queen both dropped on the flop, but a five came on the river to double him up to almost 90,000. Geshkenbein is down to a still chip-leading 210,000.

Kern Comes Off Best Against Lykov

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Herbert Kern has just added almost 20,000 to his stack early on after a battle against Team PokerStars Pro Max Lykov.

Joining the action on the {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Iulian Ruxandescu checked, Lykov bet 3,800 and Kern raised it up to 8,900 from the button. This was enough to fold out Ruxandescu but Lykov obviously had some sort of hand as he went deep into the tank. Almost 90 seconds later and he made the call.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}, Lykov checked and Kern checked behind, which is exactly the same action that followed the arrival of the {9-Hearts} on the tiver.

Kern turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Lykov placed his cards into the muck.

Day 2 Dawns

Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Good afternoon and welcome back to Saalbach-Hinterglemm, where high up in the mountains above Salzburg, things are about to get serious.

Yesterday APPT Macau High Roller champion Vladimir Geshkenbein shot into a convincing lead - the hand that did it involved preflop four-bet, a king-high flop, a getn with {k-}{10-}, a lady with {a-}{k-}, and Geshkenbein holding aces. Must be nice. The super-aggressive Russian goes into the day on 253,700 - that's 65,000 clear of his nearest rival.

This is nowhere near in the bag yet, though - also at the upper end of the chip counts are friendly Belgian online pro Philip Meulyzer, recent EPT Copenhagen champion Michael Tureniec and Day 1a chip dominator Martins Adeniya.

Also still in with a shot, albeit a little lower down the chip ladder, are Aussie Millions runner up James Keys, online qualifiers Kevin MacPhee, Dominik Nitsche and Josh Prager, and Team PokerStars Pros Luca Pagano, Sebastian Ruthenberg and Liv Boeree.

Play is due to resume at 2pm, in around 35 minutes. Don't go anywhere.
