The 'Bein of Tureniec's Life

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein has been catapulted towards the very top of the chip counts after doubling up through Michael Tureniec.

Everyone folded to to Geshkenbein in the cutoff seat and he made it 9,000 to play. Tureniec, on the button, responded with a raise of his own, this one to 24,000. Usually this would be enough to end the hand but Geshkenbein had other ideas and made it 62,000 to play!

Tureneic then checked his card and announced "I'm all-in" and was instantly called by the hyper-aggressive Russian.

Geshkenbein:{a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Tureniec:{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} keeping Geshkenbein in the lead. The turn was the {a-Clubs} which locked up the hand for Geshkenbein rendering the {q-Spades} on the river meaningless.

Tureniec sat motionless whilst Geshkenbein celebrated his huge pot, "There you go. Back to Sweden," said a rather unsporting Geshkenbein, "Back to Sweden."

"Is this your first time playing live?" quizzed a dejected Tureniec.

Geshkenbein now has 590,000 whilst Tureneic plummets to 110,000

Michael Tureniec's Up The Heat

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

The EPT Copenhagen Main Event champion Michael Tureniec is up to 425,000 after he was responsible for eliminating Timothy Finne of the USA.

Finne open-shoved from under the gun for what turned out to be 45,600 chips. Everyone folded to Vladimir Geshkenbein in the small blind and was seriously contemplating calling, asking Finne "do you want to flip," but he received no answer. Geshkenbein then folded but Tureniec snap-called in the big blind.

Tureniec:{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Finne:{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Board:{5-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}

With that Finne was eliminated and the bubble is now just six players away

Russelling Up More Chips

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Rolands Norietis moved all-in over the top of last year's runner-up Russell Carson's preflop raise. Pierre Neuville thought for a while before folding, Carson snap-called.

Norietis: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Carson: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} was the board that finished off the Latvian, Carson now up to about 400,000.

Bein't No Doubt

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein opened to 10,000 on the button and Andrey Chesnokov declared he would look at one card before deciding.

"Oh, very good card!" said Chesnokov, thinking for about 30 seconds before moving all-in for little more with Geshkenbein making an automatic call.

Chesnokov: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Geshkenbein: {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board was {5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Chesnokov was forced to the rail.

Not A Wiese Decision By Ravnsbaek

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

It could turn out to be a very short day for Simon Ravnsbaek if he keeps bluffing into full houses like has just happened on Table 7.

Joining the action on the {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop and both players checked. The turn saw the {q-Diamonds} come into play, Wiese checked, Ravnsbaek bet 18,400 and Wiese called. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and again Wiese checked then Ravnsbaek upped the ante by betting 36,500 and was snap-called by Wiese.

Wiese:{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} - For a full house
Ravnsbaek:{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} - For not very much at all

Wiese is up to 403,000 whilst Ravnsbaek falls to 293,000

Cash for Benjamins?

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Fatima Moreira de Melo has suffered an early bit of misfortune, doubling up Sander Benjamins in the process. We didn't catch the action, but we know that the chips went in pre.

De Melo: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Benjamins: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Board: {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

De Melo tapped the table with a wry smile as she dropped to around 83,000. Benjamins meanwhile is back in the game on around 100,000.

First Blood To Adeniya

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Martins Adeniya has started how he means to go on by picking up a pot rather uncontested.

Over on Table 8 Nikolaus Deininger raised from under the gun to 10,500 and after Sander Benjamins, Adeniya made it 24,000 to play. The action folded back around to Deininger who made the call.

Flop:{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs} - Deininger had already checked in the dark and he quickly released his hand when Adeniya made it 23,400 to play.
