JPeed Off

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

JP Kelly has just tweeted his elimination, holding {J-}{9-} on a {J-}{10-}{3-}{J-}{10-} board in a six-way raised pot but ran into another player's {10-}{10-}.

Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree has taken a little hit in a Team PokerStars Pro on Team PokerStars Pro moment, checking and then calling a bet of around 700 from Dag Palovic on an {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop with around 2,500 in the pot. Both players checked the {q-Clubs} turn and Boeree checked the {7-Clubs} river as well before Palovic bet 2,500. After a short tank, Boeree folded, dipping to 24,000. Palovic is at around 40,000. As we left the table Palovic was spiritedly trying to convince Boeree that he'd had a real hand while declining actually to say what he'd had.

English Civil War

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro JP Kelly opened preflop to 400 and got called in the big blind by fellow Brit Ashley Mason, together they saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} where Mason check-called a bet of 500 from the double bracelet winner. The {7-Spades} came on the turn and both players cautiously checked to see the {Q-Diamonds} on the river. Mason casually bet out 1,000 and Kelly quietly muttered something before folding.

Boiko Done Good

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Big pocket pairs squared off on Table 39 just now, giving Iaroslav Boiko an early double stack. The preflop action between him and Seat 9 had generated a pot of 14,000 already, and when the flop arrived {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} Boiko check-raised his opponent's 7,000 bet by a further 12,075 (all in). There followed all the signs of mental torture from his opponent, but he didn't release his {K-}{K-}, losing to Boiko's {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} as the turn and river changed nothing.

E.C. Game

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Erik Cajelais is up a few thousand, his latest stack addition coming at the expense of EPT Vilamoura champ Toby Lewis. The young Brit had raised to 400 preflop, three-bet by Cajelais to 1,500 from the small blind. Lewis made the call and they saw a {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop. Check from Cajelais; Lewis bet 2,000. Cajelais called. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} flop, and on the {9-Spades} river the Canadian bet out 3,800. A long think later and Lewis finally gave up on the pot.

Some Frenchmen Are Luckier Than Others

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

While one Frenchman is having an awful day (Nic Levi, busto as reported), another one is doing rather better - Arnaud Mattern has already doubled up.

We're not sure of the details, but we understand that the Team PokerStars Pro flopped a flush with {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and got the lot in against a gentleman holding the bare {a-Clubs}, which failed to hit. Mattern is among our current chip leaders on 60,000.
