Sick Hold for Azor!

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Caught from the {6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, multiway, chips fairly flew into the middle when small blind Eric Gambararo shoved, big blind Jose De La Guardia reshoved for more than double and late position Ran Azor followed them in after a bit of a think.

Gambararo: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
De La Guardia: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Azor: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Azor's two pair held over the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} turn and river, bringing a fistpump stand-up, "Yesssss!" from the suddenly above-averagely stacked Israeli.

Bord Nailed

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

James Bord opened to 11,500 preflop and Daniel Weinman made it 24,500 from the cutoff.

"All in," said Bord. Weiman got a count which was just over the 100,000 mark before he made the call.

Bord: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Weinman: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

There was a queen on the {5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop and Bord got out of his seat before the {7-Diamonds} turn was even dealt, leaning on the back his chair he dispassionately waited for the coup de grâce which came on the {9-Spades} river.

The players are dropping incredibly fast today, we can't remember it ever going this quick before.

Quickest. Call. Ever.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Georges Yazbeck has received a double up (to 200,000) after flopping a set of sevens on the button, turning a full house, and having Hugo Lemaire with aces in the cutoff. Lemaire had check-called Yazbeck's 12,000 on the {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} turn, and called instantly when Lemaire set him in on the {Q-Clubs} river. Yazbeck showed and Lemaire gave the table a flash of the useless high pair.

Thor-elimination

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The short stack success story of last night - Jean-Noel Thorel, who bubble dodged the very last hand of the sixth level picking up kings with 10bb - is no more. Now with 100,000+ in front of him, Thorel saw a heads up flop of {7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} with Simon Higgins. Higgins led 12,000 and Thorel made it 25,000. Quickly Higgins set him all in and he snap-called.

Higgins: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Thorel: {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Turn: {A-Diamonds}
River: {8-Spades}

Thorel made a sound like, "Achhh," and took his leave while the British online qualifier sits with a stack of 650,000. Addressing Kristoffer Thorsson, he said, "You're the best player on this table - did you expect when he snap called he had ace-nine?"

"No," said Thorsson.

Making a Pierre

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After cracking aces with ace king on Day 1, then making quads against the nut full house on day 2, we were wondering what Shander de Vries had in store for us today on Day 3.

"Royal flush?" he said hopefully as he began to stack his now unbagged chips. It did not take long for him to get involved in the action...

The Dutchman had raise to 10,000 preflop with Pierre Neuville moving all in for 115,000 behind, a quick recheck of the cards and de Vries called with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} only to find himself dominated by the Belgian's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The flop came {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Neuville did a weird little dance and although the {3-Spades} turn brought chop outs, the river was the {7-Clubs} and the latter doubled up to about 240,000.

Grad Glad; Hakim and Wu Blue

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jason Grad, coming back as one of several stacks worryingly similar to the Day 1 starting stack of 30,000, has douhled through taking a punt with {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, called by Lucien Cohen with {A-}{K-}. He made a straight on the board and now has around half average.

Cohen, meanwhile, simply restocked his chip fridge by busting Raymond Wu moments later, raising on the button with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and snapcalling when Wu shoved on the big blind for 40,000. Wu missed the {J-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} board with his {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} and takes a mincash - of a respectable €15,000.

On the other side of the room, Jeffrey Hakim made a quiet exit, pitting {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} against Raemon Sluiter's {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Spades} was the board - Hakim is 102nd.
