Table Twelve Gets Juicier

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Table twelve just seems to get juicier and juicier and if this carries on they will need to re-strengthen the table legs.

One person who is not having a fun time on table 12 is Matthew Frankland and here is one of the reasons why.

Lima made a standard pre flop raise and both Sointula and Frankland called. The flop was {5-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, Lima checked, Sointula bet 5,600 and only Frankland made the call. They both checked the {a-Diamonds} turn and Frankland led for 8,300 on the {q-Clubs} river. Sointula pulled some nasty faces and then made the call and it was good.

Ionel Takes One From Vitkind

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Anton Ionel raised to 2,600 from early position and Dmitry Vitkind called in the hi-jack as did the big blind. The flop was {q-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {k-Spades} and the big blind checked to Ionel who bet 6,700 and Vitkind called before the big blind folded. The turn of {8-Diamonds} was checked through and then on the river of {6-Clubs} Ionel bet 8,700 and Vitkind called and Ionel scooped the pot.

Romanello All In

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello

Roberto Romanello, the current EPT Prague champion, has been uncharacteristically quiet today but one thing that certainly was not quiet was his last bet. He moved all in for around 43,000 on a board reading {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} sending Vincenzo Apicella into the tank. He stayed there for three minutes whilst Romanello sat completely motionless but the Welshman is certainly moving again now as Apicella folded and Romanello has to stack up his new chips.

Bansi Banking

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Praz Bansi had a difficult first table and only won one pot of note versus David Sonelin before he was moved to a new table. It seems like he's found a more comfortable home here. He just got three streets of value with a hand that got better for him on each street.

He opened to 2,200 from the cut-off and Robert Cezarescu peeled from the big blind. Bansi was checked to three times and he bet 2,800, 6,700 and 10,800 on each occasion. The final board read {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Bansi was called all the way.

He tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for two-pair and the pot as Cezarescu folded. The Brit is up to less than 100,000 chips as a result.

Nikitina Survives Crucial Flip

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Natalia Nikitina is still in the EPT Main Event after winning a crucial coinflip against local player Priit Turner.

Pierre-Olivier Jandaud started the betting with a raise to 2,200 from middle position and when the action folded to Turner oin the cutoff he three-bet to 5,600. The button got out of the way but Nikitina sat riffling chips in the small blind. After around 20 seconds she moved them all into the middle of the table. Jandaud folded but Turner snap-called.

Turner: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Nikitina: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Nikitina more than doubled up and is now armed with 46,000 chips.

Sihvo is Having a Great Level Ten

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Lari Sihvo is a regular face on the European Poker Tour scene but with only a 19th place finish at Season 7 EPT Barcelona to show for it. He is having a great level ten and has just pushed himself up to 150,000 chips after winning his latest confrontation.

Sihvo raised to 2,000 from under the gun and Pokerstars Qualifier Edgars Augstkalns and Team PokerStars Pro Richard Toth both called. The flop was {2-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {5-Spades} and the action checked to Sihvo who bet 3,200 and only Augstkalns called. The turn of {a-Clubs} was checked by both parties before the dealer gave us the river of {a-Hearts}. Sihvo made a bet of 6,600 and Augstkalns had a suspicious look about him when he made the call. Sihvo turned over {a-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and Augstkalns mucked his hand.

Laughing All The Way To The Ebanks

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Recent World Series of Poker bracelet winner Joe Ebanks did not have the best of starts today and was as low as 15,000 chips at one point, but he has recovered and currently sitting behind a 77,000 stack, 11,000 more than average.

He just added to his stack when he tangled with his fellow American, Will Haydon over on Table 8. Haydon checked to Ebanks on a flop that read {7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} but Ebanks refused to check it back, instead he bet 2,300. Haydon pondered his options and decided calling was the best of the three available to him.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and the action was similar, first Haydon checked, Ebanks bet 6,400 and Haydon made the call. The river was another ten, the {10-Clubs} and this time both players checked.

Ebanks did not look optimistic as he turned over {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} but it was enough as Haydon mucked his hand.

Failed the Testud

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Paul Testud is out after a cooler of a hand. He held pocket fours and found a third four on a dry flop. He was up against Severin Walser and two were eager to and did commit their stacks. The Frenchman soon found out that his set was no good though as Walser had flopped top set with pocket kings.
