Action folded to Anton Thorarinsson in the cutoff seat and he raised to 1,300. Ben Delaney reraised from the big blind to 3,000. Thorarinsson spent a long time in the tank, but eventually made the call to see the flop. We may be in San Remo, Italy for this EPT event, but this hand saw two Australians duke it out in Daniel Neilson and Kyle Cheong.
The two were in action on the flop with Neilson up first. He checked and Cheong fired 1,275. Neilson check-raised to 3,600 and Cheong made the call.
A fourth spade hit the felt when the landed on the turn. Neilson follow up his flop check-raise with a bet of 5,200. Cheong thought for a little bit and then called to see the river.
The paired the board on the river and Neilson moved all in for 17,525. Cheong began to think. At one point he told Neilson that he wasn't slow rolling him, but was rather just thinking things through to make sure it all made sense. He eventually made the call for less chips than Neilson moved in for.
Neilson tabled the for a flopped flush. Cheong tabled the for a better flopped flush and won the pot. He doubled up while Neilson was left crippled.
The last level is underway with roughly 250 players remaining from the 359 that began the day. In 60 minutes, the remaining players will be bagging and tagging for the night.
Salvatore Moncada had just 5,800 chips left when he stuck them in preflop with . Roger Hairabedian was similarly short-stacked, and he put Moncada to the test with .
The board ran out , and Moncada shot out of his chair in celebration. It comes at Hairabedian's expense, though, and the Frenchman is left with barely two big blinds now.
When we arrived at the table, the pot had over 15,000 chips in the middle with the board reading . Alessandro Furneri bet 4,575 into Xuan Liu. She put in a solid raise to 16,300 and that sent Furneri into the tank. He thought for a couple of minutes, but folded his hand in the end and Liu won the pot.
