When we started the days proceedings Kevin Iacofano was sat snugly in third place with 305,200 chips and just a few places behind him was the flying Fin Lauri Varonen with 271,800 chips. The latest chip counts show Varonen as the new chip leader and Iacofano floundering with the fish at the bottom of the ocean, so we have some explaining to do.
Melanie Weisner told us the the defining happened in a button versus big blind spot, Iacofano was in the big blind with pocket kings and Varonen was on the button with pocket aces. A six bet later, and Varonen had doubled up to overtake Weisner as the chip leader and Iacofano was left with a shove and fold stack.
Iacofano did indeed shove his stack into the middle at the beginning of Level 14 and it was that man Varonen who was once again there to greet him with a call.

Iacofano was in for his last 21,500 chips but doubled up after the board ran out
Steve O'Dwyer is back up and running and approaching 100,000 chips again after doubling through Albert Iversen. We did not see the hand go down but it appears the chips went in on the flop with the turn and river coming and respectively.
If you can keep your opponents guessing to what your hand strength is then you will definitely be a thorn in their side. Juha Lauttamus obviously knows this because he took a strange line against Simon Ravnsbaek in a hand just now.
It was Ravnsbaek who opened the betting with a raise to 4,800 from the cutoff and Lauttamus decided to see flop from the big blind and tossed in the extra chips. He and Ravnsbaek shared a flop reading and both players checked but there was no such passivity when the landed on the turn, instead Lauttamus instantly reached for chips and bet just 2,100. Ravnsbaek asked the dealer to confirm the amount before making the call.
The river was the and despite it being a relative blank Lauttamus made it 17,200 to play. Ravnsbaek took another look at his cards before giving them back to the dealer. Lauttamus wins.
Bjarke Hansen and Lauri Varonen have just clashed twice in two hands in late position battles.
Hansen opened to 4,400 from the cutoff only to fold when Varonen three-bet to 12,200. The very next hand Hansen tried his luck again, making it 4,400 from the hijack seat and Varonen three-bet again; once more making it 12,200. This time, instead of folding, Hansen moved all-in for around 82,000 and Varonen quickly got out of the way.
There seems to have been a lot of chips exchanging hands on Table 35. Simon Ravnsbaek has just lost a big pot to Stig Christensen. Christensen was holding pocket aces in a three-bet pot versus Ravnsbaek who was holding ace-queen. A queen on the turn causing some damage to Ravnsbaek who now has 195,000 chips. Christensen on the other hand has 430,000 chips.
Two other players who have banged heads, resulting in a transference of chips, are Keld Volquardsen and Juha Lauttamus. We caught a board of with a mountain of chips in the middle. Volquardsen checked to Lauttamus who moved all in and Volquardsen folded. Lauttamus now has 300,000 chips and Volquardsen has been reduced to 155,000
Magnus Hansen and Lupu Alexandru were the two shorts stacks at their table and there was only room for one of them in this tournament.
The action folded to Alexandru in the cut-off and he opened shoved for 31,000. Hansen was in the small blind, asked for a count of his opponent's stack, and moved all-in for a few thousand more. The big blind folded to leave it heads up.
We caught the action just a few moments after the betting had started between Anthony Hnatow and Juha Helppi. Hnatow had opened up with a raise from middle position, Helppi had three-bet to 10,000, Hnatow had four-bet to 23,700 and Helppi had called.
The dealer gave the two players a flop of and they both checked. On the turn they saw the and Hnatow check-called a 21,000 Helppi bet. On the river there was the and this time Hnatow took the betting lead for 37,500. Helppi had 90,000 behind and after several peeks at his cards he decided to fold and Hnatow won the pot, taking him to over 200,000 for the first time in this tournament.
