Staszko Stares Down Varonen

Lauri Varonen raised from the cutoff and Martin Staszko called on the button. The flop was {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} and Varonen bet 39,000 as Staszko stared into the side of his face. On the turn we saw the {10-Hearts} and Staszko did not take his eyes of Varonen. Both players checked and we saw the final card {2-Clubs}. Varonen checked and Staszko took his eyes of him for the first time throughout the hand and bet 58,000 and Varonen folded.

Hundon Doubles

Spencer Hudson was very short and found a hand he was happy to go with. He moved all-in for 98,000 from early position and was quickly called by Jacob Rasmussen in the big blind.

Hudson: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Rasmussen: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The board ran {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts} making the American a straight by the turn.

Ominous News for the Field: Tureniec Building

None, not one, of the players will want to see Michael Tureniec with chips, but most of them can't do anything about it.

The current champ tangled in a pot with Alexander Manson and came out on top. The two were heads up to a {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and Manson check-raised to 90,000 after Tureniec had bet. Call.

The turn fell {2-Clubs} and Manson led for 150,000. Tureniec took his time before calling to the {8-Hearts} river where both players checked.

Manson opened {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} and lost out to Tureniec and his {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Constantin Petrica Eliminated in 19th Place (70,000 DKK)

Andreas Wiese moved all-in from the small blind and Constantin Petrica made the call in the big blind. Stack sizes dictated this battle as you could tell by the value of the cards.

Wiese{K-Spades} {6-Hearts}
Petrica{A-Diamonds} {5-Spades}

Petrica was ahead all the way to the river ({J-Hearts} {7-Spades} {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}) when a cruel {6-Clubs} ended his EPT Copenhagen dream. Petrica took the exit like a man and shook the hand of Wiese like a good sport. Wiese is back on course for his second EPT final table appearance.

Volquardsen Stops Ravn at the Turn

Aage Ravn raised to 17,000 in the cutoff and Keld Volquardsen three-bet from the button making it 50,000 to play. Ravn made the call and they shared a flop of {J-Spades} {8-Spades} {2-Hearts}. Ravn check-called a 60,000 Volquardsen c-bet and we moved on to the {Q-Diamonds} turn. Ravn decided to change his tactics and he led for 100,000. Volquardsen, who bets very quickly anyway, bet 200,000 very quickly and it put Ravn into thought mode. With a face screwed up like a baby traveling down the birth canal, Ravn folded his hand and Volquardsen moves over the one million mark as our new chip leader.
