There was a raise to 450 from early position and three callers before Freddy Deeb three-bet to 4,450 in the big blind. Everybody folded and Deeb pulled in the pot.
"I had pocket queens," Deeb tells us.
He also has 48,000 chips.

- The EPT always has open arms for celebrities from any background. The press like them because it gives us a different sort of character to write about. The players like them because, more often than not, they're good value. The celebrities we like the most are sports stars, as they offer a real competitive edge. Royston Drenthe, the Everton and dutch international footballer, is playing today. We'll try to bring you some interesting from him. All we've got so far is him folding to a 5,000 river bet from a certain Mike McDonlad.
- Andrey Pateychuk is a beast of a player who has everyone raving about him after they've played with him. The EPT San Remo champion bet 2,300 on a
board and was tank-called by Fady Kamar who mucked upon seeing the Russian's

Kostic Loses a Pot But Is Chipped Up

Leon Tsoukernik limped in early position, Bryan Piccioli made a standard raise, Arnaud Mattern called, Dragan Kostic made it 2,100 from the button and Scott Glen made it 5,100 from the small blind. Three players folded and only Kostic wanted to see a flop. The flop was a very monotone looking 
and a Glen 5,100 bet won the pot.

Ivey Watch, Sort of
We thought it was about time we had a look at how Phil Ivey was getting on, or risk the wrath of Donnie Peters.
When we approached the table Ivey was one of four players who had committed 3,000 chips before a flop had been seen. The flop came down 
and Walid Bou-Habib led for 5,400. This forced out Dieter Albrecht and Ivey, but not Pedro Pellicer who raised to 11,000.
Bou-Habib thought about his next move for a minute and raised all-in for 18,7000 total. It wasn't much more for Pellicer to call but he still took two minutes to do so.
Bou-Habib opened 
for top set, bettering his opponent's pocket kings. The 
on the river changed not a thing.

Liutauras Armanavicius Eliminates Elio Fox

The World Series of Poker Europe Champion, Elio Fox, has joined the cast of excellent pros eliminated early in the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final.
We joined the table in the aftermath of the contest. Fox was leaving and the cards 
were the only thing left in his space. Liutauras Armanavicius had 
in front of him and was in the process of dragging all of Fox's chips into his space. The board was 
and Scott Seiver reliably informed us that all of the money went in on the turn.
Armanavicius now has 70,000 chips.
Gruissem Wins a Three-Bet Pot

We join the action with enough money in the middle to make us believe that it was a three-bet pot. The two players involved were Philipp Gruissem (BB) and Jonathan Karamalikis (CO) and here is what happened next.
The dealer gave us a flop of 
and Gruissem check-called a 27,000 Karamalikis bet. The turn 
and river were both checked through and it was time for a showdown.

Gruissem picked up the pot with two pair and now has 39,000 chips; Karamalikis only has 12,000 left.
Hard to Settle for This
Jan Heitmann made the money at his home EPT in Berlin last week but here will be no so such joy here.
News reached us that he got all his chips in with pocket tens on a 
flop. Marc-Andre Ladouceur had pocket queens for the toppest of sets, and that was that for the Team PokerStars Pro.
