Venzano Busts Tricket

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We have been told that prior to this hand Sam Trickett had lost an all-in {A-} {J-} versus the {A-} {Q-} of Griffin Benger and then another huge pot to Vanessa Rousso, after she hit a combination of turn and river cards, to come from behind, after an all-in confrontation on the flop with Trickett in the lead.

Then with a little commentary from Benger…

Team PokerStars Pro Nacho Barbero raised from under the gun, Juan Gonzalez Venzano called in the next seat before Sam Trickett moved all-in for around 20,000. Barbero mucked and Venzano called handing us a showdown with Trickett at risk of elimination.

Venzano{J-} {J-}
Trickett{K-} {Q-}

Flop: {K-} {K-} {10-}

Trickett hit the flop hard and couldn't be happier. Barbero revealed that he folded {Q-} {J-} leaving one remaining jack in the deck for Venzano.

Turn: {J-}

Venzano hit his one outer and Trickett needed a miracle on the river.

River: {9-}

Trickett did not find the card he needed and he was out.

Daniel Negreanu Has Been Eliminated

We just caught team PokerStars Pro, Daniel Negreanu, shaking hands with his table mates as he left the table. We didn't see the hand as it happened but this is what were told.

Marc Zaicik raised to 2,200, Timofey Kuznetsov three-bet to 8,000 and Daniel Negreanu moved all-in for 27,300 in the big blind. Zaicik folded but Kuznetsov made the call.

Kuznetsov{K-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Negreanu{A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Board: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

Kuznetsov stayed ahead until the death, and now has 160,000 chips and the boast of a Negreanu scalp.

Martin FInger With a Tough Decision

Jose Angel Latorre has just put EPT Prague winner Martin FInger in a tough spot. After what seemed to be a little pre flop raising war, Latorre moved all-in leaving Finger with a decision for the majority of his chips. After a long period in the tank Finger finally folded and now has 42,000 chips.

Latorre kindly showed him {A-} {K-} and Finger revealed that he had {A-} {Q-}.

Happy Birthday Griffin Benger

Griffin Benger shares his birthday with another great poker authority - Pokernews very own, intrepid reporter, Frank Op de Woerd. Op de Woerd had his birthday celebration last night while Benger has decided to have his on the felt. Here he is getting a little present from the poker Gods.

There was a raise and two callers before Benger also called in the big blind. The flop came down {10-} {4-} {3-}, Benger bet 5,000 and only Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso made the call. The turn was the {5-} and Benger moved all-in for 18,000 and after a long dwell Rousso called.

Benger{6-Hearts} {5-Hearts}
Rousso{J-} {10-}

So Benger needed a seven or a deuce, for his birthday present, and the dealer provided it with the {2-} on the river.

Ivey Gets Rivered

Phil Ivey raised from middle position to 2,300. The small blind called and then Maksim Kolosov called from the big blind. After the {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, the small blind checked and Kolosov moved all in for 16,700. Ivey made the call and the other player folded.

Ivey showed the {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for middle pair with a king kicker. Kolosov was all in with a weaker {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The {4-Spades} came on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} on the river. Kolosov nailed a gutshot straight on the river to double up and knock Ivey down to 48,000 in chips.

Fabrice Takes Fatima's Soul

Farice Soulier doesn't lose many races, just ask Fatima Moreira de Melo.

The Team PokerStars SportStar opened to 2,200 from the cut-off and was called by the button before Fabrice Soulier three-bet to 10,600 from the small blind.

Moreira de Melo tanked before four-bet shoving for 53,500. The button folded but Soulier pretty much snap called.

Moreira de Melo: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Farice Soulier: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The board ran {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} to counterfeit Moreira de Melo's pair, and she was out.

Guillen Doubles Again

Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen just doubled up again and is now over 100,000 in chips. On a board of {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, JC Alvarado put Guillen all in and Guillen quickly called with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker. Alvarado couldn't beat it and Guillen is now in six figures.
