That's More Like it From Karamalikis

Jonathan Karamalikis has a plan to triple his stack each day. Days one and two went to plan but day three (today) was causing him problems as his stack shrunk. He's put some of that right just now in a hand versus Aliaksei Boika.

The two were heads-up to a {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Boika bet 8,000 from the button. Karamalikis was in the small blind and check-raised to 21,000. Call.

The turn fell {a-Hearts} and Karamalikis led for 17,500. Call. The river came {q-Hearts} and the Australian went for more value with a 37,000 bet. Boika took more time but called again, and then mucked upon seeing Karamalikis' {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for two-pair.

Simelionis Doubles to Over 500K

We're not sure of the betting, but we do know that Ugnius Simelionis and Sean Prendiville created a huge pot of around 525,000 after the former managed to get his stack of 258,000 all in preflop.

Showdown

Simelionis{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Prendiville{A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Simelionis was out in front with the kings, but he was looking to dodge an aces and clubs. He did both on the {5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, though the {Q-Hearts} turn gave Prendiville some hope as either another queen or an ace on the river would give him the win. The dealer burned and put out the {4-Clubs}.

Pocket Rockets for Kossler

Florian Kossler got his stack of 85,700 all in preflop from the small blind, and he was called by Regis Burlot, who we assume had raised from early position.

Showdown

Burlot{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Kossler{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

Kossler was well out in front and never in much danger as the board ran out an uneventful {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Ruthenberg Falls

Sebastian Ruthenberg, Team PokerStars Pro and former champion of EPT Barcelona, was all in preflop with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} against the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for Mauro Canavese.

The flop, turn and river ran out {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to give Canavese the win and send Ruthenberg to the rail.

The Battle of the Finns

Ilari Sahamies
Ilari Sahamies

Ilari Sahamies who came into the day second in chips just behind John Juanda, continues his good run on Day 3. His fellow countryman Ville Haavisto was unlucky enough to get in Ilari's way.

With the board reading {2-Spades} {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} Sahamies bet 44,000 in the small blind, Haavisto went all-in and Sahamies snap-called. Haavisto showed {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} and Sahamies flipped {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} for a two pair. The turn and the river bricked and Sahamies absorbed Haavisto's stack.

Balado Busts Palacios; Claims To Be Best in the World

Bolivar Palacios was all in on the turn with the board reading {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}. He held the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights and was in prime position to double against the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for Adolfo Balado. Balado did have an open-ended straight draw and needed a ten or a five for the win.

The dealer dealt the {5-Diamonds} on the river and delivered the straight to Balado. Upon hitting the straight, Balado started celebrating and was claiming, "I'm the best in the world!" Palacios was eliminated as Balado moved to 275,000 in chips.

De Moree Spikes a Queen to Eliminate Vymeris

Ricardas Vymeris and Niels De Moree both got their stacks of around 47,000 in preflop, with the latter having the former covered by just 300 chips.

Showdown

Vymeris{A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
De Moree{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Vymeris was a big favorite and was primed to double while essentially eliminating his opponent in the process. The {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop brought him one step closer to doing just that, but then the {Q-Hearts} spiked on the turn. Vymeris' face was overcome with disgust as De Moree hit one of his three outs to take the lead. The {9-Hearts} river was of no consequence, and after the stacks were counted down, Vymeris exited the tournament area.

Bachar's Nuts Crush Pereyra

With approximately 35,000 chips in the middle, the flop was {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} between Guy Bachar and Andres Pereyra. Bachar bet 15,000 and Pereyra raised to 39,000. Pereyra had about 50,000 behind and Bachar set him all in. Pereyra quickly called with the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped straight. Unfortunately, his second nuts were up against the {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades} for Bachar and Pereyra was behind.

The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and river the {6-Spades}, eliminating Pereyra from the event and moving Bachar up to approximately 540,000 in chips.

Pop Off

Aleksandrs Poplavskis' tournament is over, he moved all in preflop with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} but found Charalampos Tsivikos behind him with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. An {8-Spades}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} board later and the Latvian was heading out of the door.
