She's Back!

Lucille Cailly
Lucille Cailly

Lucille Cailly was having a pretty bad day, but she just doubled and will be feeling a lot happier now after doubling up.

Anaras Alekberovas opened to 35,000 before Ibon Merino three-bet to 79,000 from the button and Cailly shoved from the small blind. Alekberovas folded and Merino made the call.

Merino: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Cailly: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to safely see her hand home.

Boujenah Getting Short

Ilan Boujenah has a ten big blind stack after he doubled up Farid Chati in a battle of the blinds. All the chips went in pre flop and the cards were exposed.

Boujenah: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Chati: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

A player at the table asked for an eight on the turn so he could have fun sweat. Boujenah, very politely, put him in his place.

Fernandez Fails to Make a Comeback

Ole Schemion opened from the cutoff only to have Roberto Fernandez shove for around 100,000 from the big blind. Schemion made the call and discovered he was in the lead.

Showdown
Schemion: {K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Fernandez: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

Fernandez didn't say much when the {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop gave him the lead, and maybe that's because he had a feeling the {K-Spades} turn was coming to give it back to Fernandez. The {8-Clubs} river was of no consequence, and Fernandez exited in 27th place.

That means we need to lose just two more players before reaching the final three tables.

Duda Eliminates Weigel

Antonin Duda
Antonin Duda

Jens Weigel from Germany shoved all in from the small blind and the chip leader going into the day, Czech Antonin Duda made a cheap call. Weigel was in front when his {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} paired on the {J-Spades} {4-Hearts} {8-Clubs} flop while Duda holding {4-Spades} {5-Spades} needed another five or a four to bust his opponent.

The turn bricked {K-Clubs}, but the {5-Hearts} on the river made all the difference and Weigel was eliminated from the tournament cashing €24,650.

Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello

On the {5-Spades} {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} flop the 2010 EPT Prague winner Roberto Romanello bet 34,000 from the hijack seat and Mikalai Pobal from Belarus three-bet to 70,000 from the big blind. Romanello four-bet to 134,000.

But that wasn't the end, Pobal five-bet to 290,000 and Romanello six-bet 580,000. At last Pobal shoved his entire stack and Romanello mucked.

Eddie Tasbas
Eddie Tasbas

Eddie Tasbas has been eliminated from the feature table.

We caught up with the scratch golfer on his way to the pay out desk and he informed us he flatted a raise from Samuel Rodriguez with with king-queen. The flop came queen high and the rest of the chips went in. Rodriguez had pockets kings and the Swede was sent packing.

Kings for Mortensen

After Lucille Cailly, who finished runner-up in the 2012 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final back in April, opened only to have a short-stacked Morten Mortensen three-bet all in for 160,000. Cailly made the call and the cards were turned up.

Showdown
Mortensen: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Cailly: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} flop gave Cailly a pair of queens, but she needed a little more help in order to eliminate Mortensen. She didn't find it on the {10-Spades} turn, and the {9-Spades} wasn't of any use either. With that, Mortensen doubled to 345,000 while Cailly was left with just 230,000.

Canavese Gives Some Back

Mauro Canavese didn't hold on to all those chips for too long, after he paid three streets of value to Algirdas Saveikis.

He was in the big blind and defended a late position raise from Saveikis to see a {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop appear.

Saveikis continued for 25,000 and Canavese check-called with little though. Nagel wagered 50,000 on the {a-Diamonds} turn and once again Canavese check-called in quick time. The river came {9-Diamonds} and once more Canavese check-called, that time for 115,000.

Saveikis opened {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for trips. Canavese flashed {a-Hearts} and mucked.

Fernandez Left the Building

Marcos Fernandez
Marcos Fernandez

Marcos Fernandez from Spain opened the action with a raise to 40,000 from the early position and Italy's Mauro Canavese three-bet to 80,000 in the hijack seat. The rest of the table folded and Fernandez moved all in and Canavese called.

The Italian was in good shape as he showed {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} dominating Fernandez's {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}. However. it was not Canavese's victory just yet as the flop went {J-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} giving a set to the Spaniard.

Now it was the Italian who needed help from the board which came in the shape of the {5-Clubs} on the turn giving Canavese a flush draw. The {K-Clubs} completed Canavese's flush eliminating Fernandez from the EPT Barcelona Main Event.

Unlucky Seven for Thomas

With around 120,000 in the pot and a flop of {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, Guy Thomas bet 55,000 from the hijack only to have Anton Sinel raise to 175,000 from the button. Thomas tanked for a bit before sliding in an all-in three-bet for about 350,000 more, and Sinel snap-called.

Showdown
Sinel: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Thomas: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Sinel had Thomas drawing to either running eights or a running {5-}{6-}, which meant the {3-Clubs} left the latter drawing dead. The meaningless {8-Diamonds} was put out on the river, Thomas was escorted to the payout desk, and play was briefly halted so a table coule be broke.
