Amazing Call By Kitai

We joined the action on a {7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs} board where Davidi Kitai bet into Andrew Chen with 550,000 chips. Chen entered his familiar stoic pose before finally moving and reaching for what James Hartigan called "raising chips" and he raised to 1,565,000.

Kitai went into the tank for around 90 seconds before finally making the call with just {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for ace-high, better than the {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} of Kitai.

Chen Four-Bets With Queens

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

He had kings earlier with no action now Andrew Chen has just found queens. Chen opened with them to 360,000 with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Kitai three-bet to 850,000 and we thought we might have a huge hand developing. The problem was that Kitai had three-bet with just {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} so when Chen stuck in a 1,600,000 four-bet Kitai was never continuing with the hand and he sent his hand back to the dealer.

Chen Opens Up A Slight Lead

Level 32 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Davidi Kitai opened to 350,000 with {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Andrew Chen decided to see a flop with his {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Both players missed the {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop but Chen did pick up a flush draw. Chen initially checked then called when Kitai bet 220,000 and the delaer put the {3-Clubs} out on the turn. Both players checked its arrival and when the {Q-Clubs} appeared on the river Chen tried his luck with a 495,000 bet and Kitai quickly folded.

Another Fantastic Call From Kitai

Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai has retaken the chip lead in dramatic style after another great call on the river.

He had opened to 350,000 with {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} then called when Andrew Chen three-bet to 900,000 with {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Neither player hit the {2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, Chen bet 615,000 and Kitai made the call. The {4-Spades} on the turn was a blank but that did not stop Chen betting again, this time increasing its size to 1,480,000. Kitai made the call and it was off to the river with a huge pot brewing in the middle of the felt. The {5-Diamonds} was the river card and Chen moved all in for 11,190,000 and he covered Kitai.

Kitai went into the tank for three minutes, going through the hand in great detail in his head. Eventually he sat up and said, "yeah, I call" and as he saw his pair of fives was good a huge smile spread across his face. Chen laughed but must have felt sick as Kitai had hit a three-outer on him. The conversation between the players suggested that Kitai thought his king-high was good! Amazing stuff here in the EPT Berlin Main Event!
