This Is How You Win EPT Berlin

Kevin MacPhee, the Season 6 Berlin Champ
Kevin MacPhee, the Season 6 Berlin Champ

Kevin MacPhee is in a hot streak. He raise-called a short stacked shove whilst holding {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and was in very bad shape after a {4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop fell down.

That's because Johannes Hoffmann was holding {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for top set. Never fear MacPhee for the board ran out {3-Clubs}{5-Spades} to make him an inside straight.

He apologised and after the German had left he looked up and said to us, "Feels good to be back in this room!"

.....because they have all busted out.

Emerging Big Stacks

Here's a look at some of the emerging big stacks in the room. Taylor Paur is the smallest stack of this group and just saw his stack climb over the century mark recently.

He doubled through Adam Hui in a big pot after the money went in on the turn of a rainbow board reading {8-}{5-}{2-}{3-}. The two raised back and forth on the turn with Hui holding top set of eights and Paur the {A-Spades}{4-Spades}. No repeat of the board on the river gave Paur the win.

Jepsen, the 100k Man

Peter Jepsen is into six figures after Johan van Til made a move against him not long after getting to the table.

There was a raise to 1,500 from the cut-off that the Dutchman three-bet up to 4,100 from the small blind. Jepsen was in the big blind and put in a small four-bet to 9,100. The original raiser folded but Van Til shoved for 51,000 effective. Snap call with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} from the Dane.

The Dutchman had the pretty looking {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} but the {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts} board failed to help him.
