There Comes a Time When A Man Has to Make a Stand

Marius Pospiech was very short on chips, so short that he made felt he had to make a stand with {a-Spades}{3-Clubs} in the big blind.

There had been a button raise from Jens Weigel and a flat call from the small blind. Pospiech re-raised to isolate with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and it worked.

The board ran {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. The first card Pospiech saw was the ace and one could see his hopes rise before being dashed when he realised there was also a queen on board.

Cesar Garcia Domínguez Flying High

Cesar Garcia Domínguez is flying high right now and has around 560,000 chips. Some of these chips belonged to Armin Zoike just a few moments ago but now they are Domínguez's possession.

Zoike found himself all in with {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} against the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the way Domínguez has been running there was only ever going to be one result. The hand was essentially over when the flop came down {3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, leaving Zoike drawing to just two outs. The {10-Diamonds} turn was not one of them and neither was the {k-Diamonds} river and with that Zoike was eliminated and Domínguez's stack continues to grow.

Hoffmann at a Loss, Man

Mike Hoffmann fell just nine short of the money after he busted to Vasiliy Demushkin.

He open shoved for 19,500 from early position and was only called by the Russian in the cut-off.

Hoffmann: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Demushkin: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The board ran {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and the German player looked understandability gutted.

"Dammit Daniel"

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst worked her stack from 47k to almost 300k within just three levels. That's just expected from Vanessa these days, really. We spoke with her table side a few hours ago about how she feels about TV tables, and her past experiences that Daniel Negreanu so kindly resurrected in his Weekly Rant.

Feature Table Chip Counts

As the title suggests this post contains the chip counts from the feature table, correct of the start of the break.

Calvin Ander-gone

Wigging It
Wigging It

Anton Wigg has taken care of Calvin Anderson is a cold hand less than 20 shy of the money.

Being the secondary feature table, the cameras were on Andersen as he opened from early position. Another player three-bet before Wigg put in a four-bet. Andersen five-bet shoved and Wigg made a quick call after the third party folded.

Anderson: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Wigg: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}. Wigg seemed genuinely sorry for busting out Anderson and the two embraced.

David Vamplew Off To A Good Start At His New Table

David Vamplew
David Vamplew

David Vamplew has just been moved to a less than idea seat, to the direct right of Joe Ebanks and two to the right of Bryan Piccioli but he seems to have got off to a good start.

That good start was helped by the addition of some chips from Andreas Vlachos. They duo shared a flop reading {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, Vlachos checked from the small blind and Vamplew checked in the big blind. The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} into play and Vlachos bet 7,400 into the young Scot only to see him raise it up to 19,100. Vlachos re-checked his cards, rubbed his mouth then flicked his cards towards the muck.
