Piccioli Shoves On His Fellow Countryman

There are no friends at the poker table and Bryan Piccoli just proved that. We missed the earlier action but it appeared Gregory Gokey had opened from UTG, Piccolu had three-bet on the button only to see Gokey put in a four-bet. Piccoli's response was to five-bet shove all in and after a brief pause Gokey let his hand go.

Bill Chen Adds To Stack

The Mathematics of Poker author Bill Chen has added to his stack early on after taking on Samuel Albeck. The action folded to Chen in the cutoff and he raised to 3,000. Albeck was on the button and he made the call. Both blinds folded and it was heads up to the flop.

Flop: {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} - Chen made continuation bet of 7,000 and Albeck looked like he was thinking of at least calling but he got out of the way and folded his hand.

Geshkenbein with Quads

We picked up the action on the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board of the secondary feature table with action between European Poker Tour Snowfest Season 7 champion Vladimir Geshkenbein and Dmitry Vitkind. Geshkenbein checked the action to Vitkind on the turn and Vitkind bet 6,500. Geshkenbein put in a check-raise to 18,000 and Vitkind called. The river completed the board with the {5-Clubs} and both players checked.

"Ahh, no bet??!?" sighed Geshkenbein, showing the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for quad sevens. Vitkind flashed the {K-Hearts} and then mucked his hand.

It's All About the Money, Money, Money

Cengiz Ulusu moved into the seat vacated by Matthias De Meulder and busted two players on the first hand he played!

Alexander Meidinger opened to 2,400 and was called by Ulusu before Selim Citak squeezed to 6,300. Meidinger responded by moving all-in and both his opponents followed suit.

Showdown:

Meidinger: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ulusu: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Citak: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The the board ran {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

That's a straight for the Turk then to extend his already considerable lead at the top.

Jones Takes On Beyne

The UK's Rhys Jones has shown that the glare of the cameras over on the secondary feature table do not faze him one iota if a recent battle with Vladimir Geshkenbein is anything to go by.

It was Geshkenbein, known to the masses simply as "Beyne," who opened the betting by raising first in from the hijack and Jones was next to act. He three-bet to 6,400 which forced the button and blinds out of the hand but Geshkenbein is not someone who reacts well to being pushed around and he four-bet to 15,000.

Jones went into the tank for around a minute before taking back his original raise and replacing it with chips worth 26,200. As soon as he had done this Beyne smiled to himself then craned his neck to get a full view of Jones' stack. He sat back in his chair again and adopted a pose not too dissimilar to the famous Auguste Rodin "The Thinker" sculpture before smiling to himself again. One last glance at Jones' stack was needed before he sent his cards back to the dealer.

Two Pair, Better Kicker for Boujenah

Four players were in action on the connected flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. First up was Guy Boscart and he checked. Following him, Konstantinos Tsirakidis checked and then Matej Cepon bet 5,700. Behind Cepon, Ilan Boujenah made the call. Then, Boscart called and Tsirakidis folded.

With three players still left, the dealer slapped the {K-Diamonds} out on the turn. Action again checked to Cepon and he bet 11,200. Boujenah called, as did Tsirakidis. Then, the {K-Hearts} fell on the river and paired the board. Rather quickly, all three players checked.

Cepon showed the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for kings and sevens with an eight kicker. Boujenah showed the {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the same two pair, but a better kicker with the jack. Tsirakidis mucked.

Boujenah won the pot and moved to over 100,000 in chips.

Jaka Sent Packing

This year's PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event third-place finisher has just hit the rail. Faraz Jaka earned $755,000 for his performance down in The Bahamas, but he won't be winning anything in this Main Event here in Berlin. Javier Etayo has just sent him packing on the following hand.

From middle position, Jaka raised to 2,700. Action then folded to Etayo in the small blind and he reraised to 7,200. Jaka flat-called and took a flop.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Etayo fired 8,000. Jaka called to see the {10-Hearts} come on the turn and this is where the money went in.

After Etayo bet 10,100, Jaka moved all in for 27,800. Etayo made the quick call and tabled the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Jaka had a worse {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. After a slight pause while the cameras grabbed all of the cards and action in their shot, the dealer ran the {A-Spades} on the river and delivered the final blow to Jaka.

Selbst Amongst The Leaders

Oleg Bychkov opened to 2,500 from under the gun, two players folded and Vanessa Selbst made the call. The next two players folded and Katherin Elena Schwierz called on the button. Yorane Kerignard came along for the ride in the small blind and it was four-handed to the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop.

Kerignard checked, Bychkov checked, Selbst bet 6,000 and only Schwierz and Kerignard cmade the call. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and all three active players checked leading the dealer to put out the {6-Hearts} on the river. Kerignard checked to Selbst and the Team PokerStars Pro bet 8,000 into her two opponents. Schwierz folded but Keringnard didn't believe Selbst's story and he made the call.
