It was one coinflip too many for Borge Dypvik, he first doubled up with through Juan Navarrete's on an board to double up to 380,000.
A few hands later and Dypvik opened to 30,000 on the button before Jason Duval made it 75,000 in the small blind. Dypvik pushed and Duval made the call, the Norwegian was holding and was against once more. This time though, he couldn't spike on a board of and went out in 23rd place while Duval consolidates his chip lead on table 2.
Just some tidbits from this hand as it played out on the featured table far from our sight. Ricardo Ibanez Rodriguez was the preflop raiser, and he called a three-bet from his next-door neighbor Ilan Boujenah.
From there, we were deprived of the action until the turn as the board showed . Rodriguez was the one doing the betting at that point, and Boujenah called a bet there, and another 125,000 behind the river.
Rodriguez showed down , and the trips earned him the pot. He's been doing good work today, nearly tripling his starting count as he stacks up close to 1.5 million now.
João Paulo Simão can't have everything his own way, even if he wants to. Fraser Macintyre put him firmly in his place to cut his lead.
The Brazilian opened to 27,000 from the button and Macintyre defended his big blind to see a flop. Simão continued for 32,000 and Macintyre check-called to the turn. He checked again before raising Simão''s 49,000 barrel up to 140,000. Simão clicked it back to 250,000 but quickly folded when the Scotman moved all-in for another 427,000.
From the cutoff, Jason Duval came in with a raise to 26,000. Frederik Jensen flatted on the button, and the two were heads-up to the flop.
It came , and Duval's continuation bet was quickly called. We admittedly missed the bet amount as we were distracted by a hand on the adjacent table. In any event, we did see the amount of Duval's turn bet. It was 64,000 behind the , and Jensen called again. The river brought the and a third barrel from Duval — 89,000. By this point, Jensen only had about 260,000 chips left in front of him, and he spent a couple minutes deliberating before folding out of the way.
Everyone had a bit of a go at Duval on Day 1 when he accidentally flatted the river with a Royal Flush, but he's earned back a great deal of respect in the following days. With that pot, he's crested the million-chip mark.
Jordi Martinez is the first player to fall today. He three-bet all-in for 256,000 after Mike McDonald opened to 24,000. The Canadian snapped the shove off as he had "them".
Martinez:
McDonald:
The board ran to see MacDonald aces hold up. The Spaniard takes home €13,000 for his efforts.
First in from middle position, Juan Navarrete opened to 25,000, and he found action from both Ivan Tikhov and Javier Dominguez. The latter was in the big blind and beginning to get short on chips as they took a three-way flop.
It came , and Navarrete continued out with another 31,000. That folded Tihkov quickly, but Dominguez made the call just as quickly to leave himself with 99,000 chips behind. Heads-up now, the turn brought the . Dominguez glanced down at his stack and reached for betting chips, sliding out 52,000 of that 99,000. Navarrete gave him a good stare, but he eventually surrendered his cards into the muck.
Dominguez has moved back up to about 250,000 with that pot.
On table one right now it's Siyu Sha after he won two hands on the trot, in position.
He opened to 24,000 from the button and called when Clayton Mozdzen three-bet to 61,000 from the big blind. The flop fell and Mozdzen led for 64,000. Call. The turn came and Mozdzen checked to face a 98,000 bet from the German. He admitted defeat and folded.
The very next hand Fraser Macintyre raised to 25,000 from the cut-off before Sha entered with a three-bet to 59,000 from the next seat. Macintyre called but check-folded to 63,000 bet from Sha on the flop.
