Cheong and Duhamel Familiar Neighbors

Level 3 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jonathan Duhamel and Joseph Cheong
Jonathan Duhamel and Joseph Cheong

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel has joined the party in this €10,000 High Roller event here at EPT Sanremo. He's currently seated right next to someone he knows very well, and that is Joseph Cheong.

During three-handed play at the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event, Cheong famously six-bet all in, but ran into Duhamel's pocket queens to get crippled. At the time, it was the largest pot in WSOP history and one that will go down in the record books. From there, Cheong finished in third place for $4,130,049 while Duhamel went on to win the event for a massive $8,944,310.

It's not quite the WSOP Main Event, but this is still a big buy-in tournament, and we'll be keeping an eye on these two for any big clashes.

River Raise from Benzimra

Action folded to Christophe Benzimra, the 2009 PokerStars.com EPT Warsaw champion, on the button, and he raised to 700. Mike "Timex" McDonald, winner of the 2008 PokerStars.net EPT Dortmund, called from the small blind, and Joni Jouhkimainen called out of the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and action checked around to see the {6-Diamonds} pair the board on the turn. McDonald checked, and Jouhkimainen bet 1,300. Benzimra called, then McDonald folded.

The river was the {K-Spades}, and Jouhkimainen bet 3,000. Benzimra took a minute, then raised to 8,500. Jouhkimainen folded.
