Tough Times for Ladouceur and Romanello

  • Marc-Andre Ladouceur and Gert Zumkehr made it to a {10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop with 6,300 in the middle. The latter led for 2,000 and Ladouceur called before both checked the {3-Spades} turn. The river fell {a-Diamonds} and Zumkehr check-raised his Canadian opponent's 3,000 raise up to 7,000. Ladouceur made a crying call and mucked upon seeing his opponent's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.
  • Roberto Romanello told us how he lost a pot worth more than 110k with pocket kings. He opened and then four-bet when his neighbour, Vasili Firsau, three-bet. The latter then decided on a massive five-bet shove for 55,000 with ace-nine. Nine-ball on the river and the popular Welshman, who loves his mamma's piping hot lasagne, was left with 10,000. He was up to 14,000 when we spoke to him.

Julius Can't Beat King-Jack

From the hijack seat, Kyle Julius raised to 825. Buleni Osman Topcu called from the cutoff seat, then Jean-Philippe Rohr called from the small blind.

On the flop, Rohr checked the {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board, and Julius bet 1,300. Osman Topcu called, then Rohr folded.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} to pair the board, and both players checked. They also checked the {10-Clubs} that landed on the river.

"Ace high," announced Julius.

Osman Topcu then showed the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}, and Julius mucked his hand.

Heseding Eliminates Gurtovoy; Akkari Stuck In The Middle

On a board of {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, both Hauke Heseding and Anatoly Gurtovoy checked to Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari. Akkari bet 3,500 only to have Heseding raise to 8,025.

Action was on Gurtovoy and he announced that he was all in for 9,350 total. Akkari and Heseding both called.

The river was the {A-Clubs} and Heseding wasted no time announcing that he was all in as well. Akkari mulled over the decision for a bit before finally letting go of his hand. Heseding turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the straight while Gurtovoy shook his head and threw away his {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for a set of jacks.

Fortin Flops a Set

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Patrick Fortin just scooped a huge pot after flopping a set of queens. We stumbled upon the action with the {3-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} already on the board and it was a decent pile of chips in the pot that caught our eye.

Fortin bet 1,300 from under the gun and his opponent in the middle position made the call. The {J-Hearts} turn was followed by another 3,000 bet from Fortin was well as a call from the other player.

Fortin bet another 4,650 on the {5-Spades} river and once again his opponent made the call. Fortin showed {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} for a set of queens making his rival muck his hand.
