Benyamine Doubles

David Benyamine limped from early position and after one more limper it folded to the button who slid out a raise. Action went back to Benyamine who moved all in over the top for his last roughly 5,000. The other limper folded and the button called.

Benyamine: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}

The flop spelled disaster for Benyamine as it came {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, pairing his opponent's ace. The {9-Hearts} turned giving him additional outs for a flush and he hit exactly that on the {6-Hearts} river. Although Benyamine has doubled, his stack is still fairly short at about 12,000.

Hendriks Doubles Through Weisner

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Melanie Weisner must have scooped a pot or two in the past hour or so as she now has way bigger stack than she did the last time we checked on her. However, she had also just lost a decent part of it to Melvin Hendriks.

We picked up the action on the board reading {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} and Weisner tossing a bet of 6,000. Hendriks answered with a shove and Weisner called. Fortunately for Melanie she had Hendriks covered as the latter showed {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} for a straight flush while Weisner had {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. The {6-Clubs} river bricked and Hendriks doubled up.

Planet Muck

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Vito Planeta raised to 2,450 on the button and Fabrice Halleux was the only one with the courage to call from the middle position. The dealer opened {4-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {4-Spades} on the flop and Planeta bet another 2,600 and Halleux check-called.

Both players checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn and it was Halleux who made the first move on the {6-Hearts} river. Planeta called and Halleux showed {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} for a two pair. Planeta nodded his head admitting the defeat and mucked his hand.

Oliver Takes It Down on the Turn

In one of the last hands before the level went up, Rupert Elder opened for 900 from the hijack and received calls from Oliver Speidel and Jorge Ufano on the button and big blind respectively. Two checks on the {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop put action on Speidel, and he bet 2,000.

Only Ufano called and then he checked the {Q-Diamonds} turn. Speidel, who won the 2012 Aussie Millions back in January, didn't slow down and fired out five red T1,000 chips for a bet of 5,000. Ufano thought for a bit and then conceded the hand.

City Of Angels

We found Team PokerStars pro Angel Guillen bet 1,500 on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Ismail Erkenov called and the turn was the {A-Spades}. Guillen slowed down with a check and Erkenov took control with a 6,000 bet. Guillen opted to call, however, and the {7-Hearts} struck the river. Guillen checked and second time and Erkenov checked behind. He showed {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for king-high and Guillen showed {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a treys full of aces. With this win Guillen is up to about 72,000 in chips.
