Jannick Wrang, Benelli Answered

Jannick Wrang was up to 1.325 million then dropped back to a million. He's back up to 1.325 million again after a hand against Andrea Benelli.

He opened to 26,000 and was called in two spots. He then went on to empty the clip with bets of 46,000, 61,000, and 220,000 on the {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} board. Benelli took an age to call and when he did, the Dane showed him {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for full house. Benelli mucked.

Benelli Straightens Out On The River

From the button Andrea Benelli opened to 22,000 and his only customer was Frenchman Fabrice Soulier in the big blind. After calling the raise Soulier put his headphones and sunglasses on and readied himself for action.

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Soulier checked and Benelli checked behind. The turn brought the {4-Hearts} into play and Soulier now lead into Benelli with a bet of 22,000, a bet that Benelli did not think twice about calling. The river was the {5-Clubs} and when Soulier checked Benelli tapped the table and checked behind.

Soulier revealed the {3-Clubs} but we did not get to see the other card as he mucked when shown {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Busquet Stops the Slide, Botond Suffers

Olivier Busquet's stack has been heading south since the dinner break. He firmly put a stop to that by taking a large chunk of Balazs Botond's stack.

Busquet opened to 20,000 from mid position and called when Botond three-bet to 40,000 from the button. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades} and Busquet check-called a 45,000 c-bet. Both players checked the {10-Hearts} turn to see the {k-Hearts} river appear.

Busquet checked again and faced a 76,000 from Botond. He sat and thought for two minutes before he grabbed raising chips and made it 225,000. Botond made a reluctant looking call and was shown {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a straight. Botond shook his head, flashed the {k-Diamonds} and mucked.

Alexandre Andermatt Is Our New Chip Leader

Nicolas Chouity: Busted
Nicolas Chouity: Busted

Alexandre Andermatt of Switzerland is our new chip leader after dispatching of Nicolas Chouity.

Another of the big stacks, Balazs Botond, informed us that Andermatt raised, Chouity three-bet , Andermatt responded with a four-bet then called when the 2010 EPT Grand Final winner moved all in on him.

Chouity: {A-}{K-}
Andermatt: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The first two cards saw Chouity take the lead as they were the {A-Clubs} and {K-Spades} but the third card on the flop was the {Q-Clubs}! The {J-Hearts} turn gave Chouity some more outs to the chop but they failed to materialise because the river was the {J-Diamonds} and that as they say was that.

Chouity's exit not only propelled Andermatt to the status of chip leader with 1,320,000 chips but it also means David Vamplew is the only remaining former EPT Champion in the field.

Fabbrini Crippled, Busts

A battle of Italians saw a timely double for Stefano Demontis but left Marco Fabbrini's hopes in tatters.

The two Italians got all the chips in pre flop with a couple of big hands.

Fabbrini: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Demontis: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The {4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} board went Demontis' way.

Two hands later Fabbrini's micro stack was all-in from the button and he was eliminated by Ronny Kaiser.
