Soulier Leads Star-Studded Final Table at EPT Campione

We’ve seen some rapid days in eight seasons on the European Poker Tour, but this Day 4 of the Campione leg has to go straight into the top five. It took just four hours to lose 16 players and set our final table for tomorrow.
Chip leader is Fabrice Soulier (3,480,000) after a storming day. He claimed scalp after scalp, but more on that later.
The final table was set when the Bulgarian, Simeon Naydenov, and Olivier Busquet battled in a five-bet pot. Busquet three-bet, five-bet jammed with big slick. Naydenov called with jacks but fell behind, and stayed there, when a king appeared on the flop.

Back to the beginning of the day, and the eliminations occurred from the first bell. Mexico’s hoped were dashed when Jose Manuel Nadal fell to Carlos Mora, before the latter was ousted himself moments later. He lost his chips to the uber-aggressive Naydenov who went on to bust Ronny Kaiser just a few minutes after that. Kaiser was one of two former champions still in the field today, but as the shortest stack, his task was near impossible. His

Teresa Nousianen, the tournament director, was on the PA system seemingly constantly announcing bust out after bust out. Andrea Benelli carried a lot of the hopes of the host nation but the Italian failed to win a vital race versus David Vamplew. The latter’s

Soulier decided to take proceedings into his own hands at this point as he went on a killing spree that saw Adrian Veghinas, Alessandro Minasi, Giuseppe Biancouiso and Alexandre Andermatt all downed. The Frenchman ran particularly well in the hand with Biancouiso as his king-queen flopped trips to crack the Italian’s two black aces.
Ramin Hajiyev raced away in 12th after an ongoing battle with Balazs Botond. A big clash was looming and ended with a big pre flop encounter. Botond had the pair to his opponent's over-cards, and managed to talk a low board out of the dealer to break through the two million chip mark.
Our final former EPT champion was David Vamplew, and he was very dejected when he busted to Olivier Busquet, in 10th place. The two of them battled deep into a break and Vamplew called all-in when he hit top pair on the turn. He was in bad shape though as the heads up specialist had flopped two pair. Busquet's hand held and that means, yet again, the EPT will crown a new champion tomorrow.

Simeon Naydenov Eliminated in 9th Place (€41,000)
Jannick Wrang raised to 50,000 preflop and it was passed around to Olivier Busquet who made it 125,000 to go. Simeon Naydenov then four-bet to 233,000 behind him and when Wrang got out of the way, Busquet quickly moved all in. Naydenov called just as fast.

The chip stacks were fairly close but Busquet just had the Bulgarian covered and it was the latter at risk. The flop came down 
and Busquet took a clear lead, Naydenov needed a jack to survive but the 
on the turn did not help him out. The river was the 
and the countdown confirmed what Naydenov feared, he was the shorter of the two stacks and was eliminated as the final table bubble.

Busq-ing in the Sunshine
Stefano Puccilli opened to 59,000 preflop and Balazs Botond then three-bet to 135,000 behind him, Olivier Busquet then four-bet to 225,000 in position. Puccilli folded but Botond stuck out a five-bet to 335,000 only for Busquet to instantly move all in.
"How much, 1.3 million?" asked Botond.
"It's closer to 1.1 million," replied Busquet.
The Hungarian quickly folded.

Soulier's Two Pair Enough To Defeat Ylitalo

France's Fabrice Soulier opened to 52,000 from early position and when Balazs Botond folded Robin Ylitalo made the call. Two players folded before Koen De Visscher called on the button then Stefano Puccilli tossed in the extra chips from the big blind.
Puccilli and Soulier checked the arrival of the 
flop but Ylitalo took a stab at the pot with a 112,000 bet. De Visscher instantly folded, as did Puccilli but Soulier called. The turn was the 
and Soulier lead for 190,000 and Ylitalo made the call, though it initially looked like he was going to raise. The river was the 
and when Soulier checked Ylitalo snap-checked behind.

Naydenov Takes On Busquet

Simeon Naydenov and Olivier Busquet have just flexed their poker muscles at each other early on this final table. The action folded to Busquet on the button and he raised it up as one would expect. Simeon Naydenov was in the small blind and therefore next to act and he three-bet to 131,000. Koen De Visscher folded his big blind but Busquet clicked it back and made it 212,000 to play,
There was a little confusion about whether Busquet's raise was legal or not and it was deemed a full raise and therefore perfectly legitimate but it did not matter anyway because when Naydenov moved all in Busquet instantly folded.
