Romanello Four-Bet Wins Pot

Roberto Romanello has not been his usual vocal self today, but hopefully he will add some chips to his stack and that will soon change.

The Welshman just added a couple of thousand chips to his stack when he opened from UTG+1 to 700 and immediately faced a three-bet to 1,800 from Marian Murcek to his direct left. The action folded back around to Romanello and he wasted no time in four-betting to 5,700, which was enough to get the job done as Murcek released his hand.

Straight for Teng

Ashot Ordukhanyan, Andrew Teng, and Stephan Kjerstad saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The action checked to Kjerstad, who fired 2,200, and only Teng called.

The turn was the {q-Clubs}, both players checked, and the {j-Spades} fell on the river. Teng led out for 2,500, and Kjerstad made the call. Teng turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a straight, and Kjerstad mucked his hand.

Cochrane Eliminated; Zakharov Sitting On A Big Stack

Gavin "gavz101"  Cochrane
Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane

You're more likely to find Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane on PokerStars' virtual felt than playing a live tournament, but the reverse was true today as Cochrane gave it a go in the EPT Prague Main Event. The high-stakes pro was doing quite well, having chipped up to 62,00, but that all came crashing down.

We're not sure how it happened, but Cochrane is among the latest casualties. Our best guess is that his chips were sent over to Russia's Alexey Zakharov, who was seated to Cochrane's left and now sits with a stack of 135,000.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Debabeche is also sitting on a nice stack of approximately 105,000.

Dragar Done In

Board: {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Konstantin Russkih checked, Peter Dragar bet, and Calvin Anderson raised to 4,575. Russkih cold-called, and Dragar re-raised to 12,300. Anderson, who only had about 16,000 behind, tanked for close to 30 seconds before checking his cards one last time and folding.

Russkih grabbed all of his blue T5,000 chips, and slid them forward to signify that he was all in. Dragar instantly called.

Russkih: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Dragar: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

"I folded ace-queen," Anderson announced.

The turn card was the {8-Hearts}, giving Russkih a straight, but Dragar could still double if the board paired. The {6-Hearts} on the river was a big red brick however, and the Hungarian was eliminated.

Russkih chipped up to 87,000.

Ercan Rivers a King To Frustrate Lopes

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

British pro Christopher Brammer started the betting with a raise to 700 from the hijack and Olgun Ercan (cutoff), Tomas Junek (button) and rapper Bruno Lopes (big blind) all called.

The {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop saw the active players check around to Ercan, who set the price to play at 1,400. Only Lopes called, meaning it was heads-up as the dealer put the {2-Spades} turn onto the felt.

Lopes checked again and Ercan checked behind. The {K-Hearts} was the river card and Lopes checked again, but when Ercan value-bet 2,700 Lopes check-raised to 6,300. Ercan went into the tank for over a minute and when he emerged he did so with a call.

Lopes: {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a pair of tens
Ercan: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of kings

Lopes did not look happy at all as he watched the pot being pushed towards Ercan. Maybe he'll rap about it later?

Risk Continues To Chip Up

Nick Abou Risk is now up back the half century mark thanks to winning a pot against local player Tomas Junek.

Tomas Junek was the player to open the betting, raising to 700 from under the gun. Three players folded and the action was on Risk. After a brief pause, Risk three-bet to 2,350 and that thinned out the field dramatically with only Junek calling.

Junek then checked to Risk on a {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop and Risk tried his luck with a continuation bet of 2,825. His luck was in because Junek quickly folded.
