Doubling With Aces

Just before break, Ivaylo Peevski was all in and risk preflop holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Mariusz Klosinski had him at risk, and unhappily flipped over {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} at the site of Peevski's aces.

It was Peevski's turn to be disgusted when the flop fell {4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, and he couldn't even look anymore after the {q-Spades} turned, but the {3-Hearts} landed safely on the river.

Peevski doubled to around 150,000 chips, while Klosinski slipped to around 290,000.

A Blind-Versus-Blind Double

Action folded around to Ivar Vendelin in the small blind and he moved all in for 95,000, putting the pressure on Martin Hanowski in the big blind. Hanowski had a big stack, and he thought long and hard before dropping in a call.

Showdown
Hanowski: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Vendelin: {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

It was a good call by Hanowski, but one that would not be rewarded on the {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop as Vendelin paired his five to take the lead. The {8-Hearts} turn delivered Hanowski outs to both a straight and flush, but the {5-Clubs} river would not complete either.

Khalifa Angered By Jazzar

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jonathan Khalifa is not in the best of moods right now thanks to Maroun Jazzar who he believes misplayed is hand against him. It also does not help that Jazzar doubled through him.

We arrived at the table to see Jazzar all-in from the hijack, Dany Parlafes with 30-35k in front of him in the small blind and Khalifa all-in for around 235,000. Parlafes folded and the cards of the active players were turned onto their backs.

Khalifa: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Jazzar: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Jazzar took the lead on a {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop, and stayed there as the turn and river fell the {4-Spades} and {2-Clubs} respectively.

With that, Khalifa threw his arms in the air and directed his anger at Jazzar. Unfortunately, it was all in French but it was obvious he was not happy with how Jazzar had played his hand, not in the slightest.

Gohr's Comeback Comes Up Short

Not long ago, Sebastian Gohr was crippled down to just 2,000 in chips. He managed to work that up to 53,000, and it seemed a comeback may be in store. Unfortunately for him, that bid recently came to an end.

It happened when Gohr got all in preflop holding {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and was at risk against the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} of Jose Manuel Nadal Sordo. The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{@h}{A-Spades}{2-Spades} and Gohr's 2012 PokerStars.net EPT Prague Main Event finally came to an end.

Eames Takes First Steps Since Being Crippled

John Eames is in the process of trying to rebuild his decimated stack, and has taken the first steps towards this by doubling through Mads Amot.

Eames raised to 15,000 — leaving himself just 3,000 behind — and then put the rest of his "stack" into the middle when Amot three-bet to isolate him.

Eames: {K-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Amot: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Eames was in a whole world of trouble, one that looked even more bleak by the turn of a {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} board, but as he rose from his seat the dealer put the {5-Clubs} on the river and Eames survived....for now.

Sarwer's Straight

Jeff Sarwer opened to 13,000 in middle position, Jeffrey Hakim called on the button, and Eros Nastasi three-bet to 37,000 from the small blind. Sarwer and Hakim both called.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and Nastasi led out for 43,000. Only Sarwer called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs}, both players checked, and the river was the {5-Clubs}. Nastasi fired 81,000, and Sarwer quickly called. Nastasi was hesitant to turn his hand over, but he eventually revealed {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a queen-high straight.

Sarwer had that beat with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for a king-high straight, and chipped up above 700,000 chips. Nastasi slipped to 360,000.
