Zabrovskiy Wins Hand Of Strange Lines

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

In order to be successful at poker you often have to think outside of the box and take unconventional lines to confuse your opponents; something that happened just now over on Table 8.

Melanie Weisner opened to 1,100 from under the gun and was called first by Mikhail Zabrovskiy in the hijack and then by British pro and former poker dealer Alex Goulder in the big blind. So far so good.

The trio watched on as the dealer put out the {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Goulder checked, Weisner fired a continuation bet of 1,800 and Zabrovskiy called. Goulder, who was busy eating some fries, check-raised to 4,700 and received a very quick fold from Weisner. Zabrovskiy, however, called.

After such action on the flop, we were hoping for more fireworks on later streets but they failed to happen. Both players checked the {10-Spades} turn and the {4-Clubs} river, Zabrovskiy taking down the pot with his {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, which beat Goulder's {A-Spades}{5-Spades}.
