Back in October, a 19-year-old Spaniard by the name of Adrian Mateos defeated a stacked final table to win the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event for €1,000,000! Mateos did so by defeating accomplished pro Fabrice Soulier in heads-up play. Others Mateos outlasted were Dominik Nitsche (3rd - €400,000), Ravi Raghavan (5th - €176,000) and Benny Spindler (6th - €126,000).
“[With] more money I can play more events,” said an elated Mateos after the win. “You will see me more... Next year I can’t [go to Vegas], I have to wait, but I will be there.”
While Mateos has to wait to go to Vegas, he doesn't to play on the EPT. Mateos is in action today (you only have to be 18 to play in Prague), and only time will tell if the young superstar can duplicate the success he had in Paris. Mateos is currently sitting on a stack of 19,500.

Stig Harold, a PokerStars player from Sweden, had opened the action from under the gun and we joined the action as four other players saw the flop come . A bet of 750 from Harold did nothing to deter the other players and all five players saw a turn card of . Another bet from Harold, this time for 1,850, and his only customer was Ronny Schimpf in the small blind, a PokerStars player from Germany. The river card was the and Schimpf checked for the last time. Harold bet out a chunky 4,050 and it didn’t take Schimpf too long to throw in a couple of chips to indicate the call. Harold tabled the for the flopped set and it was good as Schimpf slid his cards towards the dealer.
Notorious online player Pascal Vos just checked from the small blind with the | board already on the table. His neighbor in the big blind bet 1,100 and Vos made the call. Vos checked again to the big blind when the river brought the duo the . The big blind thought about it for a second and then checked behind. "Ahrrr" Vos blurred as he showed his for a fullhouse. Big plans for river check-raises fell in the water, but the pot was still his as the big blind mucked.
"I Missed Some Value There" he later said with a big smile. Vos is still down for the day, he's playing around 27,000.

We picked up the action on a flop when Brazil PokerStars qualifier Christian Kruel checked from the small blind and France's Valentin Messina did the same from the big. Sergio Aido, who we told you about earlier, took the opportunity to bet 850, but he couldn't shake his opponents as both made the call.
All three players checked after the dealer had burned and turned the , and then both Kruel and Messina checked the river. Aido decided to bet 1,500, Kruel folded, and Messina woke up with a check-raise to 5,500. The situation seemed obvious so Aido shrugged and moved all in. Messina called off with the , and it was a chop pot as Aido held the same straight with the .
Aido is sitting with right around 34,000 while Messina has 18,500.

UK PokerStars Player Max Silver opened for 350, Sven Krieger from Germany defended the big blind, and the two saw a flop of . A check from Krieger brought a bet of 400 from Silver, which was met by a check- raise to 1,100 from the German. Sliver called and they both checked the turn and river . Krieger questioned whether he had to show first and the dealer confirmed he did. Krieger tabled the for a two pair made on the river, and Silver mucked.
