Newey Busts

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Paul Newey moved all in for his last 33,000 and Salman Behbehani moved all in behind him to ensure he had him heads up. So it proved to be as the rest of the table folded. Newey tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and was in rough shape against Behbehani’s {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. The dealer dealt a flop of {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Behbehani shook his head in disbelief. He needn’t have worried though as the last two cards fell {a-Diamonds} {k-Hearts} and the best hand won. Newey headed straight for the cash desk in search of a €50,000 re-entry.

Thorel Bites Back

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Andrew Lichtenberger opened from the button to 7,500 and got two callers in the blinds, Jean-Noel Thorel and Daniel Alaei. The three players saw a flop of {2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Thorel led out for 10,000, a line he had been frequently taking and had been frequently looked up. Alaei didn’t want to play but Lichtenberger made the call. A turn card {j-Spades} and Thorel continued to represent a hand, 25,000 was the price. Too much for Lichtenberger who folded. Thorel elected to show his cards this time, {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

"Re-Buying"

Tobias Reinkemeier

With 35,900 in the pot and a board reading {2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts} Tobias Reinkemeier checked from the big blind and Steven Silverman, who was in early position, bet 18,200. Reinkemeier thought for a bit before announcing that he was all in for 64,400 and Silverman snap-called.

Silverman: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Reinkemeier: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

"Re-buying," Reinkemeier announced even before the {3-Spades} was put out on the river. "See you guys later," Reinkemeier said before making his way to the registration desk.

Table 6 Opened

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

A new table has been opened up here at the Casino Barcelona. In one of the first hands at that table, defending champ Dan Smith raised to 7,000 under the gun and received calls from Paul Newey and Richard Yong, who were in the small and big blinds respectively.

All three players then checked the {2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, the dealer burned and turned the {K-Diamonds} and Newey led out for 25,000. Yong quickly folded and Smith did the same. It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us the perfect excuse to update you on Table 6.
