Persaud Can't Beat a Flopped Straight

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

When we arrived at the table, the flop was {k-}{q-}{j-}, and Oliver Langner had {10-Spades}{9-Spades} sitting in front of him. Nik Persaud was drawing dead, and quickly mucked his unknown cards after the turn and river both bricked off.

Persaud hit the rail, while Langner now sits with 140,000 chips.

Anderson Busts Shorty

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

A short-stacked [Removed:348] was all in and at risk before the flop holding {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Unfortunately for [Removed:349], he was crushed by the {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Calvin Anderson.

The board came down {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Bernhard was sent to the rail. Anderson scooped up the small pot and is now sitting on about 160,000.

Karl Malone

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

When we reached the table, a short-stacked Philippe Ktorza was already all in, and Freerk Post and Recep Dursen were battling it out for a side pot. Post led out for 7,000 on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, Dursen called, and the turn produced the {4-Spades}.

Post fired another 16,000, Dursen moved all in for effectively 29,100, and Post called.

Ktorza: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Dursen: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Post: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The river was a meaningless {q-Clubs}, and Ktorza was eliminated. Post shipped both the main and side pots, then later added another small win, and now sits with over 200,000 chips.

Dursen is still very healthy with 280,000.

No Trouble For Toebbe

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Alejandro Federico De Arruabarrena just spent a solid five minutes thinking about a big decision but ultimately he did not pull the trigger. The action started when the Argentinian raised to 6,700 from the cutoff. Toebbe three-bet to 16,700 from the big blind and the pressure was back on De Arruabarrena.

After a while De Arruabarrena put out a four-bet to 36,700. At this point Toebbe slid off his giant headphones and a German rap song came blasting out of his speakers. Tim Ulrich started laughing as did some other German players while Toebbe went into the tank for over a minute. He finally came up with a five-bet to 66,700 and the pressure was back on De Arruabarrena.

De Arruabarrena took about three minutes before Ulrich called the clock on him. A member of the tournament staff started the one-minute countdown shortly after that and De Arruabarrena sat motionless as time expired. His hand was pronounced dead on the scene and Toebbe raked in the pot.

Trisch on a Charge

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

If you're getting a new seat assignment pray that it's not 15/7. If it is then Sebastian Trisch will soon bust you. Robin Ylitalo was the first to fall and, just now, Nichan Khorchidian followed suit.

He three-bet all in for around 70,000 with king-queen suited only for Trisch to wake up with pocket queens behind. Good game, come again.

Living The Life

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Olivier Busquet has just managed to get a hold of a lot more chips after cracking Christof Bachmann's pocket kings. Bachmann raised it up from the cutoff to 6,000 and Busquet called from the big blind after the small blind had done so as well.

The flop brought out {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and both blinds checked to Bachmann who bet 12,000. The small blind folded his cards after which Busquet tanked for a bit before making it 27,000 to go. Bachmann moved all in within a second and Busquet countered with a lightning speed call.

Olivier Busquet: {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Christof Bachmann: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

"One out," one of the players at the table made sure to mention as Bachmann was in a lot of trouble. The board ran out {7-Spades}, {J-Spades} and Bachmann was knocked out.

This Lander Is Your Lander

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Lijo Lander opened the action for 6,000 from middle position. It folded around to Bryn Kenney who three-bet to 14,500. Back to Lander, he thought for roughly one minute before moving all in for 65,300 total and Kenney quickly called.

Lander looked shaken to find that he was racing for his tournament life.

Lander: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kenney: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

A run out of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} ensured that Lander would be able to double his stack. He's now sitting on about 140,000 while Kenney has fallen to around 80,000.

Cry Me a River

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Tomasz Cybulski was all set to double until a river dropped that was a dagger to the heart of his EPT Berlin dreams.

The Polish player was down to around 30,000 when he opened the action with an all in move from the cut-off. Mark Darner was in the next seat and moved all in behind. The blinds folded and the cards were on their backs.

Cybulski: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Darner: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts} to pair the American's queen on the river.

Can We Get Much Haigher

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Eilert Eilertsen opened to 6,500 in early position, and both Azad Jabrayilov (small blind) and Robert Haigh (big blind) called out of the blinds. The dealer fanned {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, both blinds checked, and Eilertsen continued for 10,000. Jabrayilov called, and Haigh moved all in for roughly 60,000. Eilertsen re-shoved, having both players covered, and Jabrayilov quickly folded.

Haigh: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Eilertsen: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {j-Clubs} on the turn gave Eilertsen a straight draw, but the {3-Spades} bricked on the river, doubling Haigh.

Eilertsen dipped to around 315,000 chips.
