Selbst Can't Get Dion to Fold

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Vanessa Selbst - Eliminated
Vanessa Selbst - Eliminated

Flop: {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Bryn Kenney checked, Yann Dion fired 3,200, and Vanessa Selbst called on the button. Kenney folded, and the turn brought the {5-Spades}. Dion led out for 7,500, and Selbst made the call.

The river was the {8-Hearts}, and for the first time, Dion checked.

"All in," Selbst said after tanking for 30 seconds or so, wagering all of her 37,300-chip stack.

It was Dion's turn to tank, and tank he did. Finally after nearly two minutes, he called. Selbst unhappily revealed {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens, which Dion had beat with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

Selbst hit the rail, while Dion now sits with 130,000 chips.

Over and Laut

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Philip Sternheimer has eliminated Juha Lauttamus, the Finn's {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} no good against Sternheimer's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} - even more so after a board of {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Reload!

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Time to reload for Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand Grospellier, he called all in on the river of a {2-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} only to be slightly annoyed by Dan O'Brien's {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} which had made a set on the turn.

Fortuitous Double for SirWatts

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

We're not sure when the chips went in, but Mike Watson was all in and at risk for his last 26,900 with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} against Ville Wahlbeck's {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board rolled out {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, giving Watson a straight, and he doubled.

Wahlbeck slipped to 27,000 chips.

The G Gets Crippled; Jams With a Monster

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

After being crippled down to 16,500 by Andrey Gulyy, Tony G four-bet shoved over an open to 2,000 from Philip Sternheimer and a three-bet to 5,200 from Juha Lauttamus. Sternheimer quickly folded, and Lauttamus went into the tank.

"I'm not one to bluff," Tony G said with a grin on his face.

Lauttamus unhappily folded.

"I had a monster," Tony G told him. "Two red queens. You had one over."

Terry Cracks Kings

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

After a series of bets and raises, Todd Terry was all in and at risk preflop holding {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. He was dominated by Yann Dion's {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}, but there was a queen on the {4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop.

Terry's set held as the turn and river came {6-Diamonds}, {7-Clubs} respectively, and he doubled to 63,000 chips. Dion sits with roughly 78,000.

Wigg Caught Out

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Anton Wigg had moved all in for 33,400 on the river of a {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades} board with 37,000 already in the middle. The decision was on Dimitar Danchev and the former PCA champion eventually made the call showing {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Wigg tapped the table and mucked, the Swede heading off to rebuy.

Not Your Average Aces vs. Kings Pot

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Vicky Coren and Albert Daher were heads up on a flop of {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}. Coren checked, Daher fired 5,000, and Coren instantly check-raised to 10,000. Daher called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, Coren quickly fired another 10,000, and Daher made the call.

The river was the {3-Spades}, Coren tossed out 10,000, and Daher blindly grabbed for blue T5,000 chips, quickly raising to 35,000. Coren snap-called.

Daher showed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for two kings, but Coren had that beat with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for two aces.

"I won the minimum," Coren lamented as she pulled in the 100,000-chip pot.
