Wheeling 'Em In

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jason Wheeler opened to 800 from under the gun, Mike McDonald called in the hijack seat, and Marc-Andre Ladouceur called out of the small blind. The dealer fanned {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}, Ladouceur checked, Wheeler continued for 1,300, and both of his opponents called.

The turn was a third heart - the {j-Hearts} - and again Ladouceur checked. Wheeler flicked out 1,550, McDonald atomic-dropped a call across the betting line, and Ladouceur let it go.

A fourth heart - the {9-Hearts} - completed the board, and Wheeler emptied the chamber, firing a third and final bullet worth 7,000. McDonald, who is usually quite stoic, adjusted in his seat and started stroking his non-existent beard. He sat quietly for 45 seconds or so, then folded.

Quoss is...Not Happy

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Fabian Quoss raised to 700 preflop and Andrey Bondar made it 2,000 in the seat next to him. Quoss called to see a {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and then called a 2,500 bet from Bondar.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and this time Quoss check-called a bet of 6,000 and the dealer put out a {Q-Diamonds} on the river. Quoss checked for a third time and Bondar moved all in for around 7,000 or so and again he was called.

Bondar showed {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Quoss mucked allowing the former to double up.

Levi Takes from Lavallee

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Peter Akery raised to 700 in early position, Nicolas Levi called on the button, and Jason Lavallee defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Lavallee checked, and Akery continued for 1,200. Levi raised to 3,300, Lavallee re-raised, making it 8,000, and only Levi called.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, both players knuckled, and the {9-Hearts} completed the board. Lavallee checked, Levi fired 8,000, and Lavallee laid it down.

Rossiter Gets Unlucky

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Mark Teltscher opened to 1,100 from middle position, 2013 PCA Main Event winner Dimitar Danchev called near the button, and Jeffrey Rossiter three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind. Only Danchev called.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and Rossiter continued for 7,800. Danchev moved all in for 28,950, and Rossiter instantly called.

Rossiter: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Danchev: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Rossiter was will ahead, but the {q-Clubs} turned, giving Danchev trip queens. The {3-Spades} bricked on the river, and the EPT winner secured the double up.

Rossiter dropped down to around 25,000 chips.

Gruissem River for Watson

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Mike Watson saw his 1,325 bet check-raised to 3,800 by Philipp Gruissem. Watson called to see the {Q-Clubs} turn and Gruissem bet 7,500 this time.

Again Watson, who came second in the £2,000 event at the Hippodrome last night, called to see the {A-Spades} on the river. Gruissem now asked for a count of Watson's stack before setting him all in.

Watson rechecked his cards, sighed and folded.

"I run better than you," said Gruissem with a smile.

"Maybe," replied Watson.
