As previously mentioned, Leo Margets is the newest member of Team PokerStars Pro after joining the team last week. Unfortunately she has been drawn on table seven which is in the farthest corner of the room and in the shade of the set of the feature table.
Her access in and out has also been blocked by the larger than ... erm ... life Mario Adinolfi.
Jon Spinks and John Eames are also there and the latter just won a four-way pot without showdown. He was under the gun and his raise was called in three spots. On the flop his 725 c-bet was only called by Patrick Fortin on the button. Both checked the turn before Fortin snap folded to a 2,800 bet on the river.
Vanessa Selbst opened to 400 from under the gun, Georgios Theodorou called in middle position, and the rest of the players folded. The dealer fanned , and Selbst led out with a continuation bet. Theodorou called.
The turn was the , Selbst checked, and Theodorou fired 1,200. Selbst called.
A repeat deuce - the - completed the board, and Selbst thought for a bit before tossing out 1,400. Theodorou made the call, prompting Selbst to rip over for aces and deuces with a queen. Theodorou mucked.
Thanks to a very large hand earlier, Selbst is now nearing 60,000 chips. We missed the hand in question, but Selbst took to Twitter afterwards:
Run a river bluff raise guy hero calls then next hand double with 99>KK on QQ9 after a few bets went in pre. 53k now beginning of level 2.March 10 2013
It took Luca Pagano a few minutes to open-fold to Alfonso Illiano after the latter shoved in his last 12,075 on the river.
The two Italians were heads up to the river of a board and the Team PokerStars Pro checked from under the gun. Illiano shoved from the button and neglected to show his hand as well after he's won the pot.
The plan today is to play eight 75-minute levels here on Day 1a, with a dinner break after Level 6. The floor staff estimates that play will end around 00:30 GMT.
The Roommates have become tablemates. The British Duo of Jon Spinks and John Eames sharing a table with the newest member of PokerStars, the diminutive and delectable Leo Margets. Spinks is in fine form both live and online. You may remember that he won the €2,000 side event at EPT Deauville for $192,586, and he has just followed up that win with a first place in the $350,000 Guarantee on Full Tilt for $67,283. Here he is in action against Eames.
The action folds around to Spinks in the hijack and makes a 250 bet. Eames peeks at his cards and fancies it. He makes the call and after the blinds fold we are heads up to the flop. The action checks through to the turn on a board and Eames takes the pot with a 525 bet.
Kevin Iacofano opened to 250 from the cutoff seat. A player defended out of the big blind, and the flop fell . Both players checked.
The turn was the , the player checked, and Iacofano continued for 300. The player called.
The completed the board, and the player led out for 400. Iacofano examined the bet for the better part of 30 seconds, then tossed his hand into the muck.
Iacofano had tremendous success on the European Poker Tour in 2011. He finished fourth at EPT Copenhagen, earning $183,580, and sixth here at EPT London, which was good for $187,559.
Intrepid reporter, MarcC, brought you news earlier of a delicious dish of a table over at Table 24. Here is some action, from that table, involving Team PokerStars Pro, Eugene Katchalov and Rasmus Nielsen.
The action folds to Katchalov in the cutoff and he raises to 250. Nielsen is next to act and he three-bets to 700 and Katchalov makes the call.
Flop:
Katchalov check-calls a 1,900 Nielsen c-bet and that ends the action. The turn , and river , are both checked down and Nielsen takes the pot when he shows the and Katchalov mucks.
Andrey Gulyy opened to 200 preflop in early position, Salman Behbehani made it 550 in the next seat down and got one caller before Michel Dattani cold four-bet to 1,050 from the blinds.
Gulyy then five-bet to 2,600, Behbehani folded, as did the caller but Dattani made the call.
That was the last of the action, the dangerous looking board of was checked down where Dattani's was still good.
