Paez Busto Quickly

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Earlier we reported that Raul Paez lost a big pot with set over set and just now we noticed that his seat is empty. It looks like his former opponent Dmitry Ponomarev took all his chips as he's now sitting on around 70,000 chips.

Three Streets of Value for Veldhuis

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis opened to 400 from the cutoff seat, Tamer Kamel called on the button, and Tom Danielidis defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Danielidis checked. Veldhuis continued for 900, and only Kamel called.

The turn was the {2-Spades}, Veldhuis led out for 2,200, and Kamel tank-called.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board, and Veldhuis emptied the chamber, firing a third and final bullet worth 6,000. Kamel capped his cards, tanked for the better part of 90 seconds, then made the call.

Veldhuis ripped over {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a pair of queens, and Kamel sent his cards into the muck.

Even More People!

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

It's a field deep with 'name' pros here in London. The most interesting spot is that the man who started the boom, Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker finds himself sitting next to the livewire Finn Ilari 'Ziigmund' Sahamies - one of the players who has probably profited most from the poker boom.

Online or Live? It Doesn't Matter for Craig McCorkell

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Poor old Craig McCorkell looks a bit tired today and it's because he only had three hours sleep last night. We would feel sorry for him but he had good reason for staying up. He only went and won the Sunday Warm-Up on PokerStars for a cool $80,000 pay day!

He's up to 33,000 today after taking a chunk out of Julian Brecard. The action was three-way to the turn of a {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} board and McCorkell's delayed 1,000 c-bet was only called by Brecard. On the {6-Spades} river McCorkell led for 3,500 and the Team Pokerstars Pro called quickly and mucked upon seeing his opponent's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for top two pair. Brecard flashed an ace.

Matt Perrins
Matt Perrins

The board read {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts} when Matt Perrins' opponent checked to the Brit who bet 2,000. Perrins' opponent responded by raising it up to 5,000 and the former WSOP 2-7 No-Limit Single Draw winner made the call after giving it some thought.

On the river the {5-Diamonds} popped up and Perrins faced a 5,025-chip bet. After about 30 second he decided to give it up leaving himself with 22,900 chips.

Ramdin's Found a Foe

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Ramzi Jelassi raised to 250 to keep things civil and Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin made the call. The player to Ramdin's left immediately put in a three-bet to 1,000 and Jelassi quickly folded. Ramdin wanted to see the flop and he made the call.

The flop brought out {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Ramdin checked to his opponent who quickly tossed out a hefty 4,000-chip bet.

"Wow, take it easy," Ramin said with a smile as he was thrown off by the big bet.

"I've got a flush draw," The Team PokerStars Pro added as he flashed his cards to his neighbor before tossing them into the muck.

Ramdin took the risk averse way and saved himself having to play a big pot out of position.

Steady Teddy

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Corey Burbick opened to 300 preflop and Matt Perrins made the call on the button while former international footballer Teddy Sheringham called in the big blind.

All three players checked the {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} flop and it was checked to Burbick on the {2-Diamonds} turn, and he bet 500, Perrins folded but Sheringham suddenly woke up and made it 1,700. Burbick briefly considered it, but elected to fold instead.
