Sammartino Gets Tricky With Queens - Busts

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino limped for 5,000 and Martin Staszko raised to 10,000 from late position. The blinds folded and it got back to Sammartino who came out with a raise to 45,000. Staszko called the raise in position and they saw a flop of {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Sammartino checked and when Staszko bet 35,000 Sammartino moved all in. Staszko called and showed {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} against the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of Sammartino. The final two cards were turn {2-Spades} and river {j-Diamonds}. Sammartino was out one off the bubble.

Datt's All Folks

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Michele Dattani
Michele Dattani

Davidi Kitai opened to 12,000 from the button before Michel Dattani made it 25,000 in the big blind. Kitai then four-bet, making it 88,000 and Dattani thought for about a minute before moving all in. Kitai quickly called.

Kitai: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Dattani: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Twice in the space of a few minutes, it was tens vs queens on this table. This time the queens would win as the board came {2-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} making Kitai a full house. Dattani had about 15,000 remaining and was eliminated just a couple of hands later.

19 players remain, 17 get paid.

Sotirios Koutoupas carries the chip lead to tomorrow's final table in the EPT10 Deauville Main Event
Sotirios Koutoupas carries the chip lead to tomorrow's final table in the EPT10 Deauville Main Event

As the High Roller nears the cash bubble the EPT10 Deauville Main Event has already reached a final table today. Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov ended play second in chips, giving himself a great chance to complete his Triple Crown. Katchalov will have to catch up with Sotirios Koutoupas first, though. The Greek holds a third of the chips in play and is looking to better his runner-up spot at EPT9 Prague. If either win it will be a virgin EPT Main Event title for Ukraine or Greece respectively.

Spinks Doesn't Believe Wydrowski

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jon Spinks
Jon Spinks

And rightfully so!

Jon Spinks opened the hijack with a raise to 11,500. Marcin Wydrowski on the button was the only caller.

{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} on the flop and Spinks checked to his Polish opponent. Wydrowski bet a rather small 8,500 and Spinks called.

Spinks checked again on the {4-Hearts}-turn and Wydrowski checked behind.

Things got kind of interesting with the {7-Clubs} on the river. Spinks bet out 17,000 and without much time needed, Wydrowski raised it up to 55,00. Spinks frowned,... and called.

Wydrowski had just {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} to show for, Spinks took it down tabling {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Yurasov Eliminated by Spinks

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Yurasov opened to 11,500 but was soon facing a push from Michael Tureniec. Yurasov decided against it, eventually folding after some heavy thinking.

The next hand he did go all in though. Seated under the gun he got his last 60,000 in with {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Jon Spinks in the big blind decided to look him up. Spinks had the worse hand with {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} but would soon receive help.

The {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the flop wasn't much of a threat yet for the Russian player. The {10-Clubs} on the turn did mean trouble for him though as he now needed a jack to survive. No jack on the river, the {2-Diamonds} on the river meant Yurasov was heading for the exit.
