Fish in a Big Pond

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
EPT Deauville Lobby
EPT Deauville Lobby

Bahram Chobineh is playing his very first EPT event this week. In fact, he's never played for more than a couple hundred dollars before in his life. He's here as the result of a bet with his home game buddies and a tournament they played.

He must have won, right? No, he lost. And now he's made the cash playing against the "big boys" (as he calls them). Watch him explain the story to Laura Cornelius on the PokerStars blog.

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Alex Kravchenko
Alex Kravchenko

A hand from the feature table now as Team PokerStars Pro Alex Kravchenko just busted...

He moved all-in for 67,500 under-the-gun with {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Giuliano Bendinelli called from the big blind with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The {10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} board gave the Italian the pot and sent Kravchenko to the rail. After that hand Bendinelli is up to 442,500 and is just 1,500 behind Dario Sammartino who has the chip lead at the feature table.

Walter Van Camberg Doubles Up

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Walter Van Camberg was all-in for 63,500 with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and in a coin-flip for his tournament life against Ghattas Kortas who held pocket twos. The Swede became a massive favourite on the {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop but Belgian had a flush draw. The {K-Diamonds} was a blank but the {8-Clubs} kept him in the tournament.

Wetemans Doubles

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Portugese player Renato Almeida had opened to 10,500 from late position and Jasper Wetemans had shoved right next to him for 74,500. Almeida thought about it for some time and eventually called.

Wetemans had the best hand with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Almeida went to battle with {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and, despite flopping a gutshot on {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, would not triumph. The {8-Spades} on the turn and {J-Clubs} on the river were blanks and Wetemans could start raking in the chips.
