"Once in a Blue Moon"

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {k-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu bet 36,000 from the hijack and received a call from Team Online's Isaac Haxton, who was on the button. The {6-Spades} turn saw Haxton call a bet of 85,000, and then the {Q-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Negreanu fired out 210,000, and then Haxton asked for Negreanu to show.

"Why? I never do that," Negreanu laughed. He then tabled the {j-Spades}{7-Spades} much to the amusement of the entire table. "Once in a blue moon you have to steam."

Mizzi Doubles Through Bonomo

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi opened from the cutoff for 20,000 and Justin Bonomo defended his big blind.

On {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Bonomo check-raised allin with {10-Spades}{3-Spades}. Sorel Mizzi, who had made a 22,000 continuation bet and now called all in for 174,000, had {10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Justin didn't improve with the {9-Hearts} on the turn and {A-Diamonds} on the river, and had to forfeit a big portion of his chips.

Vogelsang Takes One

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Lo Shing Fung decided to limp from early position and Chistoph Vogelsang raised to 35,000 from the hijack. Igor Kurganov was in the small blind and he cold four-bet to 115,000. Fung took some time to relinquish his investment but fold he did.

Vogelsang made the call in position and the two players saw a flop of {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Kurganov continued for 105,000 after some thought and Vogelsang also took his time before calling and they saw a turn card {4-Spades}.

The following action took several minutes to play out as they both checked the turn and saw a river card {9-Spades} now putting four spades out there. A check from Kurganov and a 200,000 bet from Vogelsang brought a close to the hand as the pot was pushed the way of the Vogelsang.

A Cameo Rather Than A Starring Role For Gus Hansen

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

As we detailed earlier Gus Hansen was a newcomer to the Super High Roller today, taking a seat with 250,000 chips some eight levels after everyone else. It had looked like a brilliant decision, especially after he doubled-up through Isaac Haxton, whose aces were undone by Hansen’s flopped straight.

But, the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Whether your interpretation of that quote is from Lao Tzu, or from Blade Runner, it seems to sum up Gus Hansen’s day perfectly, or more accurately, his early afternoon, as the PokerStars Blog reports.

Daniel Colman opened to 23,000 from middle position before Olivier Busquet moved all in from the cutoff for 158,000 in total. The blinds both folded and Colman made a fairly quick call.

Busquet: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Colman: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

A classic flip which Busquet won when the board came {7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Smith Eliminated by Zhou

Dan Smith
Dan Smith

Chun Lei Zhou opened for 20,000 under the gun plus two. From the button, Dan Smith four-bet to 48,000. Both blinds folded, but Lei Zhou had other plans. Lei Zhou shoved allin and Smith called with some reluctance.

Dan Smith: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Chun Lei Zhou: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The flop was safe for Smith with {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}, but the {K-Diamonds} on the turn wasn't. The {3-Hearts} on the river was of no importance anymore and Smith had to leave the feature table.
