Maximos Pertsinidis had just joined the fun table and Eliot Smith began trying to explain to him about the games they are playing, the show one card and the seven deuce game. His grasp of English didn’t appear to be too good however and the conversation was curtailed when he played the next hand putting in 200 from early position before it was explained that the blind was now 300. He put in the extra 100.

Jason Duval raised it up to 800, Gil Morgensztern called as did big blind Dominik Nitsche. Pertsinidis too put in the extra 500.
The flop was {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and it checked around. The turn card was the {3-Diamonds} and Nitsche led out for 2,200. Pertsinidis was the only caller and they saw a river card {6-Diamonds}. Nitsche bet out again for 3,500 and after Pertsinidis had given him a bit of a stare he put out a raise to 8,700.

Nitsche had about 21,000 behind and thought about what to do under the hostile glare of Pertsinidis. It took a couple of minutes before he raised him back to 13,000. Pertsinidis stared some more before folding his hand.

“Show one, right?” said Nitsche and turned over the {5-Diamonds}. He swore that he didn’t have a straight flush and that bet was the only way he could win the hand. Smith went back to trying to explain the games they were playing to Pertsinidis but perhaps the timing was a bit off and it looked like he was having none of it as he completelyt ignored Smith.

Alec Torelli then joined the table and seemed much more interested in hearing all about it.
