Strong KO'd by Puchkov

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

World Series of Poker bracelet winner Konstantin Puchkov opened for 2,200 from the hijack only to have Rob Strong from the Netherlands shove all in from the button for 12,500. The blinds folded, and Puchkov didn't seem to excited about the spot, though he still opted to call.

Puchkov: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Strong: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Indeed, Puchkov was way behind, but on this particular hand that didn't matter as the flop came down {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} to give him the lead. Neither the {4-Clubs} turn nor {J-Hearts} river influenced the hand, and a disappointed Strong was sent to the rail while a lucky Puchkov was pushed the pot.

O'Dwyer puts Yurasov into the Corner

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dmitry Yurasov has just been taught a lesson from Steve O'Dwyer. The Russian opened from the hijack to 2,000 and O'Dwyer made it 6,000 on the button. Yurasov called and then check-raised the {5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop from 7,000 to 18,500. Call from O'Dwyer.

The Russian then bet 19,000 on the {2-Spades} turn and both players checked down the {8-Diamonds} river. Since Yurasov was the first player after the button, he had to show first and turned over {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. King high bluff. O'Dwyer then showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for ace high!!!

Early Christmas For Kamel

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 2,000 from under the gun and one seat over, Tamer Kamel made it 5,000. The whole table except for the Frenchman folded and he four-bet to 13,000. Kamel called to see the {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop and within seconds the stack of Thorel was in the middle.

The all in was for 33,000 and Kamel called with the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. Thorel turned over the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The {J-Clubs} turn and {8-Diamonds} river blanked out to send the Frenchman to the rail.

Yan Shoves with a Six

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Myro Garcia opened for 2,200 under the gun and was met by a three-bet to 5,200 by Dominik Nitsche in the hijack. David "MissOracle" Yan then came in with a four-bet to 12,200 from the button, the blinds folded, and Garcia thought for a few moments before five-betting to 25,000.

Nitsche wasted little time before folding, and Yan considered his options for over a minute before announcing that he was all in. Garcia snap-folded. Yan then showed just the {6-Clubs}.

"Nice hand," Garcia said.

So Far So Good

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Both Dominik Nitsche and Tamer Kamel are on their second bullet in this €10,300 High Roller and pretty much doubled up the initial stack in their second session at the tables so far. Kamel just three-bet a raise from Aleksandr Denisov from 2,000 to 5,000 on the button.

Only the Russian called to see the {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. Denisov check-called 5,100 and then both players checked down the {A-Clubs} turn and the {9-Spades} river. Denisov showed the {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} but Kamel had that beat with the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

O'Dwyer Like a JoJo

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Steve O'Dwyer grinded an early short stack back up all the way to 100,000 and then fell back below starting stack. Just now we saw him doubling up to almost six digits. The American opened to 2,100 and Philip Sternheimer three-bet to 6,100 in the small blind - call.

On the {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop Sternheimer continued for 7,200. The {Q-Clubs} appeared on the turn, and he fired another bullet before he jamming the {7-Spades} river. O'Dwyer called with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a rivered straight against the pocket queens of his opponent.
