Welcome back to the 2014 PokerStars.it European Poker Tour Sanremo €10,300 High Roller. Yesterday 88 players visited the Casino Sanremo to take their shot at the last €10K buy-in of the season, and 15 of those players ended up exercising their option to reenter. Those numbers are likely to go up too as late registration and reentries are open until the start of play.
As it stands, 47 players from Day 1 will return today for ten more one-hour levels of play. Leading the way is Russian Alexander Kopylkov, who bagged up a healthy 331,400 last night. Not too far behind is Jason Lavallee with 308,400, who if you recall defeated a field of 157 entries to win the EPT10 London High Roller for €357,700 earlier this season.
Others returning to action are a mix of players on their second bullet like Jose Carlos Garcia (130,200), Tamer Kamel (101,900), and Jean-Noel Thorel (76,000); and those who got through on their first such as Ognjen Sekularac (232,400), Carl Carlsson (214,600), Artem Litvinov (111,000), Yann Dion (109,500), Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (73,200), Mickey Petersen (47,700), Ami Barer (38,500), and current EPT10 Player of the Year leader Ole Schemion (170,300).
Speaking of the EPT POY race, we expect Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst to reenter after busting late on Day 1. Selbst has stated her attention to overtake the German on the leaderboard between now and the end of the Grand Final in Monte Carlo. To do that she needs to play as many events as possible, and everyone knows high rollers offer a great chance to amass points, albeit through a stacked field. Only time will tell if Selbst can do it.
Day 2 action is set to kick off at 12 p.m. local time, which is about half an hour from now. The plan for the day is to play ten more one-hour levels, during which time we'll get close to the final table. The the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will also be providing live updates from the Main Event as it plays down from 16 to the final eight.

Two players have taken advantage of the late reentry option — Olivier Busuqet, who finished 27th in the Main Event yesterday, and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst. That brings the field up to 105 entries. We'll have the prize pool and payouts for you once they become official.

Connor Drinan three-bet shoved from the button with the and got looked up by initial raiser Ihar Soika with the . The board ran out nine high and that was it for Drinan.
Jean-Noel Thorel made some chips and moved up to 90,000 after betting the river for 30,000 with only little chips behind. Jose Carlos Garcia opted to fold.
The Frenchman soon after lost a portion of the profit though. Ognjen Sekularac raised to 4,400, Martin Finger called and Thorel three-bet to 15,000. Sekularac folded but Finger moved all in for what looked like 75,000 and enforced a fold.

That was a rather short day at the office for Vanessa Selbst. She raised from under the gun and then four-bet jammed into the three-bet of Steve O'Dwyer. The EPT9 Grand Final champion snapped her off with pocket aces and Selbst stood no chance with on a dry board.
No one should let me play 22bb poker on no sleep. Made terrible jam pre with KQ and busted within 10 min. Worst part is now I'm in San Remo.Follow @VanessaSelbst

A flop of flop saw a short-stacked Jeff Rossiter get his chips in holding the against the of Jean-Noel Thorel.
Rossiter had plenty of outs — any spade, eight, or king — but despite having two pulls at it, he missed as the blanked on the turn followed by the on the river.
Meanwhile, Andrew Chen was eliminated from the tournament in unknown action.

On the river, Jose Carlos Garcia bet 25,400 and Alex Bilokur moved all in for 95,300 - fold from Garcia.
Yann Dion paid off a 15,000 value bet on the river of a board from Dmitry Yurasov and then mucked when getting shown .
Last but not least Ole Schemion had once again bad luck with pocket aces. He raised the cutoff, one player called and Ami Barer completed in the big blind. "UhhMee" had the and flopped magic on the board. Barer checked the river and Schemion put him all in, obviously a snap call followed.
