Let's welcome the Vienna Champion

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Oleksii Khoroshenin
Oleksii Khoroshenin

Oleksii Khoroshenin is playing in today's Day 1A here in Sanremo and he even smiled before the final hand of the tournament as well, though his start has not been great so far. After preflop 3bet with Candido Goncalves, the Ukrainian led for 1,200 on the flop {2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and 2,200 on the turn {A-Clubs}. The Frenchman called the first barrel but not the second ...

Lecomte Versus Korotkikh

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The player in the cutoff made it 350 to go and next door neighbor Quentin Lecomte raised it up to 1,000. Mikhail Korotkikh in the small blind cold called and the cutoff called as well.

Korotkikh checked immediately as soon as the {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} flop came out. The cutoff checked as well and Lecomte followed his preflop aggression up with a 1,700 bet. Korotkikh called, the cutoff folded.

Korotkikh checked again, almost before the {J-Diamonds} hit the turn. Lecomte bet 3,500 and Korotkikh instantly called.

The {2-Diamonds} fell on the river and Korotkikh mucked even before Lecomte did anything. The Frenchman laughed and took it down just like that.

The WSOP Champion is here

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Pius Heinz has entered the building and just won a small pot with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} when value betting the river {5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for 1,300. The German and his opponent, Vincenzo Scarpitti, checked the flop and turn, and then the Italian called the final bet before mucking. On the same table we also have Carter Swidler and Jorma Nuutinen.

Heinz' better half and "Friend of PokerStars" Natalie Hof is in as well and sits next to Aku Joentausta. Julian Stuer is one of the few other Germans in today's field.

Metalidi Wants Flops

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Ukranian PokerStars player Artem Metalidi has Christopher Lachave from France sat directly to his right. Lachave qualified via a live satellite and had been raising a fair few pots so far, gradually accumulating a growing stack of black T100 chips.

“Let’s see some flops sometimes.” Complained Metalidi good naturedly. “You raise, raise all the time.” Lachave just shrugged and smiled.

Rough start for Agerskov

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Rasmus Agerskov
Rasmus Agerskov

Rasmus Agerskov had a deep run in the high roller event of the EPT Vienna only a few weeks ago but ultimately missed out on the final table. The Dane has had a rough start to Day 1A here in Sanremo as well but just got some value out of a turned full house with {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} on the board {8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts} when betting 1200 on the river when his opponent called and mucked.

Srinivasan Taps Out

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Markku Koplimaa, an Estonian PokerStars player, opened from middle position and was raised by Canadian PokerStars player Shyam Srinivasan. The blinds folded and Koplimaa now made it 1,650. Srinivasan made the call in position.

The flop fell {2-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. A continuation bet of 1,350 from Koplimaa saw his fellow pro tap the table and release his hand.
